Very hard for private tutors to justify their cost compared to AI. Are private tutors 100x better than AI tutors? How to answer that with a straight face?

It is not a good comparison. As long as the tutor is better, your child will benefit.

If there are limited places in top schools, you have to pay more to be marginally better than other applicants. Otherwise, accept that every school is a good school.

AI is good in explaining English. I use that for teaching my youngest. Maths U still needs a tutor. Science, AI doesn give short answers with key words that requires by the marking scheme

early AI can't do math. Today, the latest AI is very smart. Can solve math olympiad question. Even PM Wong said it on national day rally speech. AI should be good enough to teach math today.

Doesn't work dat way. Either ish problem ish fixed or not fixed nia. Not 1x or 20x betterer. Also if chiu dunno answer better dun use AI because it hallucinates not long after launch. Even XAI which I've bin using after ChatGPT started hallucinating, ish also beginning 5o hallucinate liao.

Before you sing praises about AI being a full time tutor, ask yourself, are you willing to put your own child's academic on the line by engaging AI 100% as it's tutor and see how he fares against his/her peers?

Very easy one. Train for 1 year. Compare the results from previous year results against after 1 yr of AI tutoring. See how much improvement.

Did u ask yourself:

1. Is AI teaching you the correct/expected way in accordance to PSLE standards to solve a problem? Will AI teach a different solving method but it's not expected from psle then end up get penalized

2. Can AI catch your weak areas and grill you on those areas? Is your child willing to transcribe the test questions word for word and seek help to find out where did he answer wrongly and explain back to the child how to get it correct next time? Imagine every paper must do this. Then multiple by number of subjects. Day in day out keep doing this. For human tutoring , this is probably a 5min thing (show tutor the paper, tutor verbally tell u where went wrong. Done)

3. Every year, human tutors will analyze and provide key tips or topics /areas to focus on. Depending on the tips, they may or may not come out during exam. If lucky, maybe several were caught and child can score well. Can AI do that? Can AI catch topics to focus on? Sample questions to try? Can they provide correct tips?

4. How to ensure the answers and explanations given by AI are correct? Do you need another adult to peer review the answers and see if they're correct? Don't later teach the wrong thing and send your child to Holland and score badly in exam

Parents hire private tutor because the problem is not in the subject. It is in the child. AI won't solve the child issues.
