Yes, moi agreed. Seniors always tend to save their bank money for rainy days. Let them use their Medisave is a wise move. Let them use like cdc voucher to pay for food etc. Because if they don’t use their Medisave when alive, then no chance to use it after they died.

Wonder if the opposition parties have ever asked: what is the typical balance (i.e. percentage left) in the members' medisave account at the point when they passed away?

CPF (especially thr Medisave component) so many restrictions in place, won't be surprised that got people pass away before fully utilising their CPF.

Very good idea. Otherwise they will have to take from their kids to pay for medical bills all the time

Usually will likely left a lot, but will divide according to estate laws to beneficiaries. But when they are alive, they will need their children to keep paying cash for their medical bills. So it’s not fair to their kids

Our society is also ageing and there are increasing number of singles growing into their old age, perhaps the usage of medisave can be calibrated and made more flexible for this group.

Minister of State Rahayu kept repeating the same things over and over again. She also seems very nervous when replying. Parliament seems pretty empty at this session

Imo this is why they will cork block. They don't want too many people using at the same time

Increasing the Medisave doesn't change that fact. If u hv used the system den u would hv seen over the decades dat dey will jack up the prices after dat. Ends up patients pay moar. Dat had bin the case over the past 35 years.
