Ah good. Thought i was the only one experiencing slowish face unlocks
Yes previously on iOS 26 was slow. You unlock liao can see a lag before the icons appear. Fixed for me in this new update.

Old iPhone buyback prices are intentionally pushed lower after a new launch to capitalise on the desperate sellers.

The higher buyback prices that you're seeing should remain stable until at least the end of the year.

Yet you choose to buy Apple? What is the lesson learnt and how does it apply to your usage?

The following comment make sense.
It’s not necessarily unexpected. Same thing happens in Mac’s too.
Probably 256 is a single NAND chip vs two in 512.
More NAND chips working in parallel = better performance.
To majority of people it probably won’t matter and performance difference won’t be noticeable.
But if you record RAW footage and want to offload it quickly, that will take a bit extra time.
Keep in mind that iPhone 17 (Base) and Air transfer over wire at USB-2 speeds (480Mb/s). AirDrop seems like the only reasonable way to transfer larger chunks of data.
Could it be that you're just being picky for little to no reason?

Iphone trade in has the best price few months before new iphone release. But question is, can you afford to let go so early? Answer is no for most people. Few weeks before new launch, trade in price will start to drop. After new iphone launch, price will drop. Until now, i compare mistermobile price, the trade in still haven't match actual day release day trade in.

😂 think most ppl won't even notice the small difference. No point going larger storage for something you will not notice most of the time.

not like it can fetch much higher price.
EG used iPhone 16 Pro Max trade-in price taken from MisterMobile
256GB - $1100 (S$1,899 2024 Sept when first released)
512GB - $1180 ($S$2,199 024 Sept when first released)

Agree. Only pay for the extra storage if you really use it. Like if your current storage used is 100GB, and you change phones every 2-3 years, no point buying 512 or 1GB because you are unlikely to use it. I come from 14pro to 17PM 256 and I find it very fast already.
