If and when I retire, the children all have their own houses and move out.
If wifey and I go lease a condo in JB and rent out our HDB, the income from HDB should be more than enough cover the JB lease + basic living expenses in JB right?

Then some of our stuff in the HDB keep where? Cannot everything all shift to leased JB condo right?

Anyone with experience on this?

Just sell away or throw away or leave it to the HDB tenants. Material possession will lost values over time. Only thing matter is if your children will visit you in JB...

We already invested in SGD properties until ABSD making it not worthwhile.

Also the property I bought in JB is only token amount so the risk vs benefits is totally worth for such a small amount.

I think the ABSD 20% is worth it for the certainty and safer property in SG compared to Msia.

Why should I pay ABSD? Assume simple $1.5m property in SG ABSD is SGD 300k, my MY landed is about the same amount, so you mean you would rather pay ABSD then use the money to just get a MY landed property? I think you need to re-examine your proposal and also buying the 3rd or 4th property would incur heavy property taxes and if you rent out even worse, more income taxes, that's why we just sold of one of our 99LH industrial property to get rid of non performing non productive lease decaying "investment" SG property and also reduce property count.

Holding 99LH properties in Singapore is just as good or bad, as holding freehold MY properties.

What i meant was items like old wedding photos, prized watches, jewelry, collector items, etc
Definitely not going to just sell/throw away or leave it to tenants, or even bring over to keep in jb.

If keep at lock&store probably makes no sense as it could be a couple of hundreds monthly, might as well just keep 1 room.
Children may not even settle in singapore, considering that the it is a globalized economy nowadays, with jobs openings everywhere to anybody around the world. So who visiting who is not a consideration.
