I finished watching the entire video. He gives a calming aura.

It is good that he seemed to have settled his family duties/matters before going for ordination; some people would not be able to do so, due to ongoing commitments to aged parent(s), for example.

I rejoice at his new path and wish him all the best on the road to fully develop the Noble Eightfold Path!

You dunno buddhism, becoming monk is tougher than lying flat. My shifu has to read a lot of materials to prepare for lessons, even junior monk need to study to upgrade ownself.
of cuz any form of practice are not easy, not just Buddhism. imo just a better way to "lie flat", disconnect from material world & focus on the practice. at least the mind won't wander aimlessly compared to lie flat in material world. he chooses practice in Australia which i think not that harsh compared to say Thailand

Must study, must memorise, still must meditate, must do chores for maintenance of the temple. Some traditions, have to go out for alms early in the morning. In some temples, the monks have to serve their community by performing rites. Very busy schedule.

Different kind of challenges IMO. They don't have the stresses of our lay people world. But how many of us willing to give up our material comforts for such a life? Not easy.
