A lot put in but buy only if get the unit they want. This kind of put cheque is misleading cos can put $0 cheque
Could be also the agents ownself put in cheque right? Hard to tell between real and artificial hype.
No information on the distribution of interest either, could be 80% of cheques put up for a small subset of units.

Got an agent friend submitted 14 cheques for 14 potential buyers, end up balloting numbers all >800 didn get a single sale at Skye.

Told him he should chiong for toto next.
This kind they will ask them buy other condo

many singaporeans have high incomes . they are those who are not in forums complaining abt their daily lives but doing things for their own lives
toxicity affects work performance
many work in MNCs and/or financial sector. many reach managerialish positions by 30. assume both couples do so. 20k per month combined and importantly, excluding bonuses which can be a lot
there is a lot of money in singapore including among singaporeans

why is the difference between situation in Sg vs other developed countries? TAXES. they are low in Sg so there’s a lot of money around and growing through investments since there is zero capital gains tax on equities

The main barrier is actually the initial cash and CPF outlay of about $700K to $800K. If you have that and assuming 30 years loan, it's not that much money. Monthly mortgage is about $8K.
Let's assume on your estimated figures. 8k per month is not a small sum. Lets say dinks, 4k shared should be something that not the average can afford.

Having 700-800k capital outlay even with cpf, likely a very high earner or has financial backing, including selling off million dollar hdb.

The numbers don't really add up for the number of projects available lately.

A couple in their mid 30s with good career, easily can fork out the 800k combined.
