This was posted here before

Basically this is a FAST moving road
Cars move fast there
However there's times where there's zero cars on that road

Don't know how fast or slow.old man was going
But I know some old folks do nonsense on roads and expect cars to just stop for them

lol dont say old folks..

my gf will be the death of me.
she cross roads without checking (ok not jaywalking, but those roads that cross over pathways, or zebra crossings etc)

then she insists that drivers have to give way and if they hit her its their fault.

ok yes but if one gets hit, even if not ur fault also have to bear the burden of pain, maybe disability or death!

Saw this woman
Chinese
Probably foreigner

She crossed road like she owns it
PROBLEM was its side road off main road.and there's NO ZEBRA crossing , no lights , no marking etc
And there's ALOT of cars cos its a main road

Saw her cross just ... like that
Like saunter across
Worse thing was she's carrying a baby
WORST thing is she turned around and told maid to do same thing
Maid was pushing baby in stroller Behind the woman
And was TERRIFIED

See. Even maid knew better

I swear.
If Singapore is a better country , should sue her for child endangerment

i ever saw a incident, green light in pedestrians favour. One car bashed through, nearly hit a pedestrian. People were screamiing. I nearly ran after it to scold him. He didn't stop. Worse that it wasn't even a discretionary turn. But the car just bashed through.

We have to look out for ourselves and have some situational awareness. Dun depend on the crossings which is only as safe as the willingness of drivers to abide the rules.

Not that i am fighting for cyclists but why are u not taking note of your surroundings when u are driving? Just what's in front and rearview mirrors? You are suppose to be looking at your left and right too from time to time in addtion to ur rear and side mirrors.

And even if you were to just look ahead, before you actually reach the vicinity you SHOULD already have seen the general area, if ppl are looking like they wanna cross, should you slow down in anticipation etc.

AGAIN i am NOT fighting for cyclists here, the victim can be a stupid pig for all i care but the driver sense must be there. And it's not from the ''you are the car so you should be XXX or YYY''

It's for your own self preservation.
Looking in mirrors/ here / there etc... unless driver has X-ray vision like Superman, also cannot see him until he suddenly appears in front of her car

"The in-car camera footage revealed the driver only had one second to react. The driver has not been charged."

Above from river valley case.

So prosecutors or defence lawyer got check if this "suay" driver got more than a second to react?
They didn't say how long she had to react. But she took 3 point something seconds.
So she had less than that to react

" .. cycled across multiple lanes .. "
misleading sentence

it could mean cyclist is trying to cross the road from one side of the road pavement to the opposite pavement

or

It is as implied... cyclist riding along road changed lanes recklessly across multiple lanes

The part is the mini bus infront did not move and actually allow the cyclist to go first. The driver who drive the car should see this as am red signal. . Adapted there is a traffic light in front. .
Where does it say that the mini bus did not move?

Before reach the current spot, should have at least seen the cyclist from behind already 15 secs or so ago.

Even if the cyclist is not near her lane back then.
