Okay, going back to the question, is it possible to port Starhub prepaid to M1 (not M1 Maxx) or Singtel SIM Only directly without through an intermediate step?
IMHO.
Hmm... i only ported Singtel prepaid to M1 and Singtel prepaid to Simba. Both telco took care of the conversation from prepaid to postpaid. :ROFLMAO:

No idea, I suppose it can be done, since Simba can do so. it is just a matter of whether they want to do it.
The bigger question is why would you want to do so except Simba, given that usually pple want to save when using prepaid, then suddenly jump to MNO's high price plans.
IMHO.

Indeed that is more of a theoretical question. Very seldom people will go for that kind of options (prepaid to Singtel/M1/Starhub). other than used as an intermediate step to port to a SIM Only plan.

I've seen some posts mentioned the following.
Singtel Prepaid --> Singtel SIM Only temp plan --> other SIM Only plans

This may be faster than
Singtel Prepaid --> Maxx --> other SIM Only plans
Singtel Prepaid --> Cicles.Life --> other SIM Only plans
Singtel Prepaid --> SIMBA --> other SIM Only plans

IMHO.

So looks like M1 is willing to get port-in from prepaid card. Good to know that.

Guys just asking opinion here

Do we still gt any mean to use up all the credit before port out starhub prepaid.
Not really confident with their so call prepaid star plan and I heard horror story failed to port out to another prepaid telco provider.

Worst case worst I might need to let go the credit as I wish to keep it as prepaid instead of postpaid as I treat it as a number to get OTP and some occasional data roaming usage in overseas

Prepaid Cards used to be the best for your use case (quite valid use case of Prepaid Card previously). Validity extension used to cost only S$1.40 for 90 days (or S$0.60 if you only extend 30 days). Now there is no such cheap validity extension.

If you want to port out from StarHub Prepaid to another Prepaid, Singtel Prepaid may be an option with the S$3 IDD pack 180 days extension trick (not so sure how long this will last).

M1 Prepaid validity extension is at S$5 for 90 days.

SIMBA prepaid is probably not a good option because of the short 21 days grace period.

The new StarHub Prepaid Plan (no longer called Star Prepaid Plan) may not be bad as it has 120 days grace period. I am going to try it myself.

There are other alternatives like M1 Maxx SIM Only Plan and Eight SIM Only Plan, quoted by me in this thread recently. You can check then out as well.

During starhub 120 days grace period, i cannot call or sms out? :o

https://www.starhub.com/personal/mobile/starhub-prepaid.html

11. What will happen if I do not renew my StarHub Prepaid Plan?

At your plan expiry, you'll enter a 120-day grace period. During this time, you can still receive calls and SMS. To resume full service, simply top up.
If no top-up is made after 120 days, your line will be terminated and any remaining credits will be forfeited.

For Starhub Prepaid Users, will be upgraded to Prepaid Star Plan from Dec 2024 to Mar 2025

This post was in Dec 2024.

None of my three StarHub Prepaid Cards have been migrated to the new StarHub Prepaid Plan yet, even though the app keeps saying they will soon be migrated.

No complaining though, I want to delay the migration as late as possible, at least two number parking cards.

Migration guide has been posted long ago.

Maybe I am just lucky.

But as others have mentioned, the new StarHub Prepaid plan is probably a Postpaid plan in disguise.

#4 is already a violation of the three Prepaid Cards limit by IMDA. #9 is another major difference.

Major difference is the long 120 days grace period, making it still a viable option for number parking.

4. How many lines am I allowed to sign up for?

NRIC and FIN holders are allowed to sign up to 10 mobile services.

5. Can I port in my mobile number from another operator to StarHub Prepaid?

Yes, you can. Simply visit any StarHub Authorised Reseller with your original document ID to sign up.

6. I am already using StarHub Prepaid service. Can I sign up for the new StarHub Prepaid Plan and continue using the same number?

Yes, you can. Simply visit any StarHub Authorised Reseller with your original document ID to switch today.

9. How long is my StarHub Prepaid plan valid?

Your StarHub Prepaid Plan is valid for 1 month from the date of purchase.

11. What will happen if I do not renew my StarHub Prepaid Plan?

Number parking possibilities. Singtel Prepaid Card is still the best option now.

1) Singtel Prepaid card, with S$3 IDD pack 180 day extension trick, not so sure how long this trick will continue to work.

2) New StarHub Prepaid card, 120 days grace period

3) M1 Prepaid card, S$5 for 60 days.

4) M1 Maxx Base Plan, need to top up within 60 days

5) Heya Base Plan, need to top up within 60 days

6) Eight S$8 per month plan, need to top up within 60 days (60 days grace period after plan expiry).

SIMBA prepaid card does not seem to be a good option.

If you need regular data usage, then Prepaid is no longer a good option.

But if you only need small amount of data occasionally and mostly for number parking, then the prepaid cards can still be used. Still, you may consider SIM Only Plans as well and use the Grace Period trick to minimise the cost.

Of course you can just go with low cost SIM Only Plan and forget about Prepaid Cards to save the hassle. The annual cost is anyway not very high.

Honestly, the advantages and appeal of prepaid has drastically reduced with low cost postpaid plans.

Exactly, other than number packing use case.

Even for number packing use case, low cost SIM Only Plans may still be used.
Yup, I have shifted to SIM Only for quite a while.
Works as backup SIM for data and especially useful when roaming with the likes of Eight, SIMBA etc.

Better than Prepaid which is getting harder and more cumbersome to maintain.

I think still not. Maybe need to check with Eight.

You may have to use M1 Maxx or SIMBA as the intermediate step.
I thought prepaid S is considered as postpaid.
I want to port because I am not getting 5G from prepaid S due to old sim card.
