I thought prepaid S is considered as postpaid.
I want to port because I am not getting 5G from prepaid S due to old sim card.

Eight FAQ says no port-in from StarHub prepaid. They can accept M1/SingTel Prepaid.

https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-port-in

Can I port my existing Prepaid plan to eight?

Good news! Port your postpaid or prepaid plans to eight and enjoy our great value and reliable service. Starhub prepaid port-in is not available.

new starhub prepaid allows up to 10 lines, it is not a real prepaid, maybe will check with eight.

Yes, same issue here. Most likely I will port out this card out as well. This card is the only card actively being used by my daughter.

For the other two StarHub Prepaid Cards for number parking purpose, I may keep with the new StarHub Prepaid Card (use the 120 day grace period feature) or just give up.

I have got a new Eight number because of the above FAQ. If not I will port one number parking card to Eight (for testing non-Singtel networks).

This post was in Dec 2024.

None of my three StarHub Prepaid Cards have been migrated to the new StarHub Prepaid Plan yet, even though the app keeps saying they will soon be migrated.

No complaining though, I want to delay the migration as late as possible, at least two number parking cards.

Migration guide has been posted long ago.

Maybe I am just lucky.
For my case, went full circle liao - migrate to SIMBA and terminate 😂

If you need regular data usage, then Prepaid is no longer a good option.

But if you only need small amount of data occasionally and mostly for number parking, then the prepaid cards can still be used. Still, you may consider SIM Only Plans as well and use the Grace Period trick to minimise the cost.

Of course you can just go with low cost SIM Only Plan and forget about Prepaid Cards to save the hassle. The annual cost is anyway not very high.

Two users in Singtel SIM Only Plan thread were "cheated" by the recent Singtel Prepaid offer.

In reality, for regular data usage, the offer is only good for the first 28 days.

$15 prepaid plan better than any other contract plan 😂

$15 SIM card
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/prepaid-plans/hi-sim-cards

200GB 5G+ data for 28 days
30GB Roaming
(Malaysia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Thailand)
500 Local Mins & 100 Local SMS
Up to 500 IDD Mins
hi!Rewards welcome gift (worth $10)
Free Viu Premium (worth 8.98/mth)
Free $15 Main Account Credits
SIM validity 90 days
*Bonus data will be credited within 3 working days

Is there any reason there's not much discussion or anyone recommend Prepaid instead? (https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/prepaid-plans)
Seems like it offer so much more for less; comparing to SIM only (https://www.singtel.com/personal/mobile/plans/sim-only)

Am I missing something?

Yes, they missed something. My reply:
A big problem is that the data is only for 28 days. After that the data plan is no longer as good as the first 28 days.

https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/prepaid-plans/hi-topup-cards
S$15 top up for:
100GB 5G Data
5GB roaming (Malaysia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Thailand)

M1 Prepaid has similar things.

1) Initial sign-up is better.

https://www.m1.com.sg/mobile/prepaid-plans/m-card/sim

$12 (U.P. $25) | 5G
  • 750GB
  • 5GB (Bangladesh, China, India, Thailand)
  • 400 IDD 033 mins (Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand)
  • 5,000 mins Local Outgoing Calls
  • 400 Local SMS
  • Unlimited Incoming Calls
  • Valid for 4 weeks
What’s more, top up $24 to get the same benefit again!

$25 SIM at $12 is valid for a limited time period and is available at M1 Shops and M1 Authorised Retailers.

2) Subsequent top-up, not as bad as Singtel one in the above, but not as good as the initial sign-up.

https://www.m1.com.sg/mobile/prepaid-plans/m-card/top-up

$14 all-in-one Top-up | 5G
  • 500GB
  • 3GB (Bangladesh, China, India, Thailand)
  • 200 IDD 033 mins (Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand)
  • 500 mins Local Outgoing Calls
  • 50 Local SMS
  • Unlimited Incoming Calls
  • Valid for 4 weeks

Singtel Prepaid Card is still like a traditional Prepaid service. But then they have monthly plans.

Now they are trying to promote 5G+ Data Plans as the selling point.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/prepaid-plans

For number parking, it is now the best Prepaid plan because of the S$3 IDD pack add-on trick. Not so sure how long this can work in the future.

It may also be an okay option for users with mainly number parking purpose but occasional data usage.

For regular data usage, better to move to postpaid SIM Only plans.

https://www.m1.com.sg/mobile/prepaid-plans/m-card/sim

For number parking, it is an option because of the official S$5 validity extension add-on for 90 days. But people may argue for M1 Maxx base plan as a viable alternative (60 days grace period but may be longer).

For regular data usage, better to move to postpaid SIM Only plans, including upgrading M1 Prepaid plan to M1 Maxx plan.

As mentioned earlier, the new StarHub Prepaid plan is now a Postpaid plan with "Prepaid" in the name only.

Main difference is the generous 120 day grace period compared to typical postpaid SIM Only plans. This makes it still an option for number parking purpose.

For regular data usage, probably better change to normal SIM Only Plan which offer more data and benefits for S$10 per month.

One of my numbers just got converted to the new StarHub Prepaid S plan. I checked my StarHub app (I have existing StarHub Fibre Broadband 5Gbps plan), the new StarHub Prepaid S plan is added under the Mobile section and called "STARHUB STAR PLAN Prepaid S".

The plan was activated on 29 Oct 2025. My previous ballance was S$0 so the new balance is also S$0. Previously I paid S$10 for the 10GB data add-on (this phone is used by my daughter). The remaining data balance is gone and replaced with the new 80 GB data quota.

The details of my plan in the StarHub app.

STARHUB STAR PLAN
Prepaid S
S$10.00/mth
Renews on 29 Nov 2025
Change plan

80GB Local data
500 mins Local calls
200 Local & International SMS
1GB Data Roaming to Malaysia

FREE Caller Number Display
24/7 online support

My daughter does not allow me to OOkla SpeedTest so I just checked some status quickly. Her school holiday starts this week (so early for secondary school) and she is enjoying playing games now.

1. It is with 5G SA. The Poco X6 Pro phone shows 5G+. I also checked the detailed phone status to make sure.

2. It is using VoLTE. I have not checked whether VoNR and VoWiFi work or not.

3. I replaced the old 3G SIM Card for free in StarHub Jurong Point Shop previously. I think the SIM Card is a 5G SIM Card since the connection shows 5G SA.

4. You can WhatsApp StarHub to check if a Prepaid number is under your name or not (eg: it can belong to other family members). I needed to bypass the stupid chatbot and got hold of a human to answer the question whether this number belongs to me or not.

1. Singtel now offers normal "5G+" and "5G+ Enhanced" Prepaid plans.

2. Do not be cheated by the S$15 new hi! 5G offer which is only valid for 28 days, after that your data top-up at S$15 per month will not be as good. On the other hand, it may be a good way to test out Singtel 5G+.

Another thing, the monthly plans are pretty much similar to postpaid SIM Only plans.

Been lurking here and seems like most of the info are about cost-efficient number parking methods, best way to extend prepaid etc, thought I'll ask here regardless.
Looking to port out my M1 Maxx line to Singtel hi! plan, will need long validity since it is my main line.
1) In terms of cost-efficiency, am I on the right track?
2) For validity extension, can I keep topping up to keep my number indefinitely?

TIA :D

1 No, Maxx is postpaid so you are not allowed to port to prepaid line.
2 If parking your no. is your priority and regardless of data, SMS and call. Just retain your Maxx line and do not buy any plan and let it become Base Plan with monthly 200mb, 10min out call and 50 SMS. It is free and renew monthly as long as you use some data or make 1 call or send 1 SMS every 90days.

Number parking possibilities. Singtel Prepaid Card is still the best option now.

1) Singtel Prepaid card, with S$3 IDD pack 180 day extension trick, not so sure how long this trick will continue to work.

2) New StarHub Prepaid card, 120 days grace period

3) M1 Prepaid card, S$5 for 60 days.

4) M1 Maxx Base Plan, need to top up within 60 days

5) Heya Base Plan, need to top up within 60 days

6) Eight S$8 per month plan, need to top up within 60 days (60 days grace period after plan expiry).

SIMBA prepaid card does not seem to be a good option.
ST $3 IDD STILL WORKS.

Then every 179 89 days top u once the card with some 30day plan.

I check with them and this is what i understood
I shortened the days by 1 for headroom and comfort, not on credit card renewal.

Eg
Day 1-29 $10
Day 30-89 $0, In between day 40, 70, send some sms maybe
Day 90 $10 must add.
Day 91-179 $0, In between day 110, 150, send some sms maybe.
Day 180 $10 must add.

Loop this.

You may be misled by the CSO, the amended terms and conditions of Base Plan is not the same as the real world usage, ie. for the time being, absolutely no requirements of any further purchase after the first plan purchase. Every 90 days minimal usage is to keep the line active, after 90days, you don't have to purchase any plan to keep it active, just need to fulfill the minimal usage will do. My Base Plan has been active since 2024 after the 1st plan purchase.
