For expensive mattress usually have 2 layers of mattress covers mah. One is the top colorful layer and the bottom one to prevent sweat and liquids reaching the mattress mah just like your pillow case and the protector case like that ah

For the past 30+ years I slept on the cheapest mattress available. In fact for the last 10 years, my mattress is just a very thick foam. Lucky my back never complain even when I reach 50 yo.
Whatever stains I just bochap.

Use a bit of diluted bleach. Spray and wipe with damp cloth. Wipe again to remove and residue bleach.
Air the mattress well.

Last time osim has a steam cleaner can clean mattress. Now I don’t see this kind of machine in market.
