Anyone has any recommendations of 5g+ network especially underground in trains?

Is gomo, vivifi, cmlink, eight or Maxx better? Any comments?

the key differentiator in Singtel's 5G+ is the network slicing technology. this allows certain traffic to be prioritised, and thereby letting Singtel provide a better experience for those who're paying more, on paper anyway.

the thing about mobile networks it that coverage is often a bigger issue than congestion. congestion would be a problem when everyone is gathered at Marina Bay Sands for the fireworks display, all eager to stream their video live on social media. everyone's phone has a perfect signal because they are in the heart of the city, but if you pay, your data gets to go through first.

in most instances, however, it's more more important for mobile users to not have dead spots where there's no signal (underground, for example, or remote army camps) - hence, better coverage.

Which is the irony, the feature they promote as making their network so superior actually penalises all but their highest paying customers.

For StarHub 4G network which the popular eight S$8 4G plan is using, signal coverage is not a big issue, but congestion is the bigger issue.

For M1 4G network, then coverage is a bigger issue than congestion.

For StarHub/M1 shared 5G network, probably coverage is the more important issue to improve.

As per Singtel, it will help a lot for the underground.

https://www.singtel.com/business/insights/beneath-the-surface-the-power-of-underground-5g

On the other hand, there are both coverage and congestion issues involved. So YMMV.

Now Singtel MVNOs start to get 5G SA. Let's wait for more reports whether they get better user experiences in the underground MRT tunnels.
No la rubbish de. The strench of EWL from tanjong pagar to Redhill all fall bk to 5G NSA and then can't load anything

IMHO.
Everything the same, 700Mhz will be better overall except for speed.
That's physics.

We are not really talking about speed here.

Consistent 10 Mbps is more important than top speed for most of the mobile phone use cases.

And it is surprisingly difficult to achieve consistent 10 Mbps for underground MRT tunnels, especially during peak hours. In fact consistent 1Mbps may be good enough for many users.

That blog which starts with oc. claims they detected Starhub enabling n28 with their eight SIM card. So what advantage does Singtel's 5G+ have anymore?

❌ 700MHz - Competition also had access to 700MHz and has started using it
❌ 5G SA - Competition launched it years ago and for everyone
❌ Network slicing - Disadvantage to everyone but those on Singtel Priority >$55 plans
✅ Public perception that 5G+ is superior - Singtel's marketing budget no.1 of course :D
