Think best don’t use such portable gas models, the explosion risk is not worth it. Stick to induction or infra-red cookers.

It was a popular thing in the 90s amongst steamboat shops and is still being used now. I think this one still okay, some steamboat stalls back then even more scary, they would just use a small LPG gas tank ,connect the gas pipe to the steamboat stove on the table and you would just makan :s22:

Still can find this kind of LPG gas pipe at the famous Golden Mile chicken rice restaurant. Quite scary to see.

i think the lpg safer since there's a regulator and distance away from the naked fire & heat.
these portable one is likely more dangerous with the gas canister just next to the pot

Actually from the video, it did not say it's particularly more dangerous.
The explosion happened because some kumgongs used a big pot which edge over to the canister directly and they were literally cooking the gas can.

This is stupidity :o

If wire caught fire, still got ample time to react and stop fire from spreading or cut off electrical supply.

Gas Explosion instantaneous, no chance to react and likely immediate injuries to those nearby.

The LPG tank safer honestly. It is away from direct heat ( at levels well below human limit) compared to the gas canister sitting next to the fire. Also the tanks are quite robust with thick shell compared to the thin gas canister.
