I drove from JB to Mersing in November. You can read my account:
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/gunong-arong-mersing-desaru.7172882/

Quite a historic road, the trunk road to Mersing. A few bunkers from WWII remain on one stretch. Signboards highlight wild animal crossings.
Yes, remember I drove passed the WW2 bunkers by the road side and the animal crossing signs. That stretch of road its a straight and hilly slop road (up and down slope). Though it is two lane roads I drove my car more than 100 km/ph because it was very visible (provided no weather issues like heavy rain or fogs) for me. Very little oncoming vehicles from the opposite side. There are jungles along both sides of the roads.

Last I drove there to Mersing was in 2017/18. Not much changes since I started to drive often that route in 1986 to 1991 I think. The WW2 Bunkers are still there until now I guess...

Then from Mersing I drove up to Kuantan then crossed over to West Coast of Peninsula Malaysia to KL via Gerik route which near the border of Malaysia and Thailand.

I REALLY ENJOYED THE CAR RIDE AND VERY MEMORABLE ONE FOR ME UNTIL NOW.

reviewing RM35 for a swiss roll; it was not eaten "fresh" left overnight in fridge in their box, cut down the middle, 1 serving :ROFLMAO:

taste, the cake too dense for my liking, could it be because it was chilled? idk, last time, swiss roll, also got chilled ones and cold cream filling nicer for swiss roll IMO

taste, the chocolate cream filling is normal, +1 for it being not overly sweet

real unsweetened cocoa powder on top

RM35, i would be expecting more cream and less cake.

i felt that the price was more for the packaging and the business design than for the product.

die cut packaging is not cheap

was it nice that it came in such fancy box, bag and even give disposable cutlery? sure, it looks fancy but not necessary.

i rather the product shine more.

In conclusion, not worth RM35, this price is Rich and Good cake shop price, and it lose on taste, but win on packaging

for me, RM15-20 range maybe can consider buying.
Packaging is to attract impulse buying, all the cost is included to the selling price. If add some pretty gals you are hook

i don't disagree with the direction of this business, spend more on making the experience and façade for the masses that scroll on their phones every second.

if got pretty gals, i more worried, as they are a distraction to the real food quality.

everyone attached only "allowed" to eat one dish after they are married, while single me is still enjoying the buffet world, so pretty gals to me are a dime a dozen. :ROFLMAO:

This month is the time to visit evening Ramadan markets all over Malaysia. I hope to find time to visit the ones at Plaza Angsana and Perling Mall in JB. There is one outside the Giant of Southern City which I have never visited. Further, I enjoyed Ramadan markets in Malacca and also Kulai.

Perling should be quite small, I saw it on Sunday.
