salt was traded during roman and ancient chinese times.

salt also important commodity for almost all industries.


so if anything runs out salt will be one of the fastest.

while people say can get from sea (fair enough) but its not pure.

salt requires energy to produce too. so when stockpile is low. salt cost will thoerically rise like bitcoin

hence they say salt was worth like gold during ancient times.

From the threadstarter of the EDMW EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS THREAD to everyone else:

As some of you *who have been faithfully following this thread on a daily basis since Day One* may have already noticed, there was an unusual lull (within the context of yours truly's normal posting pattern) inside this thread since moi last post [aka the first post that you see, right at the very top⇡ of this page].

Well, the lull was actually a deliberate & calculated one on moi part. Allow me to explain:



Over the past week *especially*, I have been scanning the local mass media, and I have noticed *with an approving smile on moi face* that it is NOW *finally(?)* doing a fine job of what I have been doing inside this thread since Day One, and so, I shall let it do that for as long as the momemtum is maintained, while I can now move on and concentrate moi energies on the so-called 'higher order' of things (as it pertains to the *ultimate* survival of Singapore & Singaporeans), inside this thread.
And what. exactly. is that?

Well...let me answer that question this way ba:
