Waste money on a not so strong gpu.Just get a 5070 will do.
LOL. My fingers cannot keep up with the game. It's sticky.Last but not least...if you are born in 1975 and still gaming. You rocks! YOLO..
if it is just over heating because the paste dry up , this is a easy fix. Just reapply every 2 to 3 yearsLOL. My fingers cannot keep up with the game. It's sticky.
PC assembly is my hobby so I help my kid sourcing a replacement GPU.
So far, reapply thermal paste seems to fix the problem.
Need to keep an eye for a new GPU as I am sure how long the fix can last.

out of these, i feel the 5070ti is the best option as the 5080 is only around 15% faster yet the cheapest 5080 here is at least 30% more costly, u also dont get more vram either. none of these are within ur original budget though and personally, id opt for something like a 9060xt 16gb for $550 from techyard, very similar performance to the 3070ti but with double the vram. this also means it is about half as fast as a 5080, but at about a quarter of the cost is much better bang for buck; u also still keep the 16gb vram. if u want an upgrade for ur kid, u can opt for a 5070 at $850 (which is a "good" deal compared to 5060ti pricing) or a 9070xt at around $1k (similar to 5070ti performance). do remember to check if the card u want can fit in the existing case before buying, the higher end nv cards can get super long. Please comment which should I get.
MSI 5070TI Ventus x3 OC 16gb $1.4K
MSI 5080 Gaming Trio OC 16gb $1.8K
Gigabyte GV N 5080 Gaming OC 16gb $2.1k
Asus RTX ROG 5080 Astral 16gb $2.4k
Zotac RTX 5080 Solid Core 16gb $1.8k
Just get MSI 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC 16gb @ ~$1.5K. Avoid Ventus line in MSI offerings. It's the lowest tier with loud fans and poor cooling.MSI 3070TI Gaming X trio is finally dead.
Please comment which should I get.

Thanks. From the cards you mentioned above, you are a dad who is willing to spend "a bit" more.
Got discount just get the 5080. No discount willing to spend, get the 5070Ti.
Anything below S$1000, just get the 9070XT and ignore any 9070, 5070, 9060 which are rubbish IMO.
Omg....these price...last time is can build an entire rig liao. Plus mid range cardMSI 3070TI Gaming X trio is finally dead.

PC gaming used to be a niche hobby until speculators and industry started to compete for the same PC components e.g. crypto mining, AI. Sudden massive demand cause prices to spiral.Omg....these price...last time is can build an entire rig liao. Plus mid range card
