1.the basic 1 and 2 for ikoma is the same as the basic for bunka?

2.whts the average age group of the class?

3. if i want to take my jpt, signing up with bunka would be better cause i just need to attend their basic instead of ikoma basic 1 and 2 ?

hey guys erm.. no one has really answered my question haha..

means ikoma basic 1 and 2 = bunka basic 1?

means bunka has a faster route to take jpt?

average age of class?

currently, i am studying at bunka.

bunka produces their own textbooks. for elementary 1, they will be focusing on hiragana. for elementary 2, they will be focusing on katakana. the class size is abt 18, maybe less than that depends on which day. they will be focusing on grammar, also have class interaction. you will receive a cert from bunka after you finish elementary 1 and elementary 2 so that you can proceed to intermediate 1.

the exam format for elementary will be 6 forms, english translate to japanese, particle and etc. there will also be an oral test. listening will be included only during elementary 2. The passing marks is 60 for paper and 6 for oral. If you fail, e.g 50 -59, you can re-test the same paper within 1 week. marks less than 49, you can re-test the same paper within 1 month, and also allow to attend one of the lesson for free. You will learn kanji from intermediate 1 onwards. after intermediate 2, you can take jlpt 4. after intermediate, can take jlpt3.

To me, the sensei there are not bad. have the patience to explain to you. Their teaching are fast as weekends lesson are 3hrs per week. The most important thing, you need to make an effort to go home and study. If not, no matter how good is the sensei, you never make an effort to revise, also useless.

Hope i have clear your doubts about studying at bunka.

that why you realli need to practise on your own. it wont be difficult to fail. Because they will give you hint during revision which is before the start of the exam.

Anyone here at the Bunka Pre-Advanced / Advanced level already? Would like to enquire what it's like i.e. how the classes are conducted, how many months course, difference from Ele - Int. Currently at Int-1 now.

Bunka Pre-Advanced:

- 1 and a half hours per week. 1 term lasts for 8 weeks, as normal. Payment is made every 2 terms, or 4 months of lessons.

- Focuses mainly on conversation. Notes will be given and discussions will be carried out based on them. You have to speak up in Japanese. Written exercises are hardly done anymore.

- A test will be conducted at the last lesson of every term, but the results do not matter.

- Promotion to the next level is entirely based on the sensei's decision. She will decide whether you are ready for the next level.

Additional point - focuses on your reaction as well. It's ok to speak slight broken Japanese as sensei will correct. =)

Hi, which school gives most exercises? I need a lot on grammar, and maybe listening. Any comments will be helpful!! Thanks!!

PS if you have workbooks to sell pls email me at victimofsleep@yahoo.com.sg!

Edit: Is it possible to take JLPT3 and 4 at the same time? I mean, is the test on the same day same time?
