what book is that, title and author, and the price you are selling at

Title: Discrete Mathematics with Applications (Third Edition)
Author: Susanna S. Epp

Bought from popular for $37.70. Good condition.
Great complement to the Maths 121 if you're taking.

Hi, guys. I have decide to apply this course Bsc Computer Science ( Multimedia and Game Development ) from SIM-UOW of upcoming intake. Base on the website information.

I holding a poly dip in EI which takes me to final year. But I worry that, if straight year 3 I may suffer. As my past programming knowledge not good as use to be. So, thinking of going to 1.5 year advance standing instead. Can I? But.....if go year 3? And have some bridging moulde, I may consider to go direct too.

In total, I need to take 4 course for I.5 year and 8 courses for year 3. But, the website only show total of 11 module only (4 in year 2 bridging +7 in final year). Seem like short of one. Am am correct? Please correct me if wrong. I abit confuse.

Entry Level

1 Year Advanced Standing

16 Courses

1.5 Year Advanced Standing
12 Courses

2 Year Advanced Standing
8 Course

If check the programme curriculum below it seem like shortage of one
module in year 3. It should be 8 course or 8 modules.

· CSC203 Algorithms and Data Structures
· CSCI204 Object Programming and Frameworks*
· CSCI212 Interacting Systems *
· CSCI222 Systems Development *
· IACT201 Information Technology and Citizen's Rights
· CSCI235 Databases *
· IACT202 Structure Organisation of Telecommunication
· CSCI213 Java Programming & Object Oriented Design

"In year 2, the modules mark with red star mean what?"

· CSCI336 Computer Graphics
· CSCI322 Systems Administration
· CSCI321 Project
· CSCI346 Game Development
· CSCI356 Game Engine Fundamentals
· CSCI366 Multimedia Computing

"Year 3 only 7 modules.......???"

And the rest of the question I need to ask in below:

Q1) How is the study structure for part-time?
Q2) How many modules to enrol for per semester? And per semester is how many months?
Q3) How many classes I need to attended per week and per module?
Q4) Contact hour for each module? Any one know?
Q5) Cost for each module?
Q6) Of course, how about starting pay, prospect without exp? As compare to
DSS?
Q7) Any current student care to comment about course?
Q8) Is most of the module got alot programming?
Q9) Beside gamming industry, where else can I go?
10) Is there any bridging module for 1.5 year or year 3 advance standing?

Sorry for the long question. As I need to obtain as much information as possible. Thank you.:o

Year 3 the Project module is spread over 2 semesters, hence you see only 7 modules.

Q1) You attend lectures first 2 weeks per sem, followed by tutorials/labs once to thrice a week depending on module and schedule (holiday clashes). Be prepared to burn some Saturdays.
Q2)2 modules per semester, one semester consists of roughly 3 months
Q3)See Q1
Q4)3 hours per lecture/tutorial
Q5)Monetary cost? Don't understand this question. Should be as reflected in the course brochure
Q6)No one has any idea about it yet. I do know that jobs are hard to find though, despite what newspapers and online sources say about jobs in the industry.
Q7)Be prepared for the ride of your life. Are you game for it? :s13:
Q8)Yes, every semester confirm must do programming. The language of choice will be C++.
Q9)This Bsc is specialized in games and multimedia, so I don't think you can go elsewhere, unless the company thinks that your degree is a good fit for their job requirement. :D
Q10) Should have bridging modules, but I'm not too sure about the specifics.

FYP methodology is basically the same for all 3rd year UOW students.
You'll get a list of topics that is fixed for your Area of Focus.
It'll be group project with a team of 5 or less. You'll not get to choose your group member (although, there's way to circumvent the measure to a certain degree)

As for the example topics, you'll have to ask the DSS students as each AOF has its own separate topics from the other AOF.

For BIT students, the topics have not been changed for the past 1 year from what I understand.

i got the list of subjects , entering ft in apr 09 from 1.5yrs onwards , i see that the second last semester of yr 3 there is a project 1 , and the last semester has project 2 . So are there two projects in the final year? this doesn't gel with the sim website.

Well, you start your FYP by the end of second last sem.
That's why you see two projects, which is basically one spread over 4 mths

Ok any students care to shed some lights about the course? I know it's very intensive coz I've been there, done that. Just want to know how the curriculum goes. And would also like to know what kind of GPA can go in there... coz i just received my final year results and it pulled down my overall gpa...
