Hi guys,

I recently been to Bangkok and managed to bump into this fantastic tailor shop called James Fashion. It charges 1000 baht (about $40) for a long sleeve shirt and if you buy 3, they charge 2500 baht for 3, which is about $35 for a shirt.

It's not any small tailoring shops we see in Singapore. It's a whole building by itself with 2 levels of materials for you to choose from. And i would say the designs, colours and quality of the clothe is really trendy and amazing (like abercrombie style). There are many europeans and americans who frequent there.

The service i received there is also unmatchable. I made 3 shirts there and they delivered the shirts to my hotel room the very next morning. I would say the shirt looks fantastic and very expertly tailored.

However, as a fussy person, i wanted a little more alteration to the shirts. I called them to ask if they could do a little alteration, they said no problem and they sent their tailor to my hotel room in less than 30 mins and at no extra charge! They delivered it back to me the next morning. I was quite speechless by their great service really. I'm very sure you don't get that in Singapore and at such a good price! ($35/shirt)

I seriously recommend this tailor to you guys if you happen to go to Bangkok.

I heard of this before too. But i been to BKK 4yrs ago, and the place doesnt really appeal to me. Nice food, nice ppl, nice weather, but not much to walk...
Or maybe i didnt the in and out

Tailors in bangkok are actually worth it if you know where to head. I've read some real horror stories of tailoring in Bangkok..some so crazy and bad that you never even want to give it a try yourself actually, but, on the other hand, i've also read GREAT stories and blogs of people who loved the clothes they tailored in Bangkok, so be careful where you get them done. Another good place to try out is Crown Tailors in soi sukhumvit 8. They have done a great job for me in the past. Easy to reach via Nana Sky train station.

Gee, based on the feedback given on various forums and reviews, seems like the suggestion is to avoid James Fashion like the plague. Or maybe they just carrot-head ang mohs?.?

Just wondering, cause I'm sourcing for nice affordable tailor as well=)

Seek more info

Sir but the materials are really good? they don crumble so easily ? and what about collar if wanted inner collar collor to be different will they charge? seems like many good review on Grand

The price offer by Grand City Tailor is attractive and I found that they also bring in fabrics that other taliors or shops like Raoul have , therefore it's worthwhile to tailor the shirts if you know what you want.

However if you do not know what kind of colour of the fabrics and the pattern suits you, that can be a problem as they r v busy and they normally just take your measurements without offering much advice like whether the fabrics suits you, the cut of the shirts. the type of cufflinks, how to match the shirts with your tie etc. (maybe becos i went in a wkend, that's y they r too busy).

The bottomline is I would suggest to have a tailor that offer you advices and tailor shirts for impt occasions and someone like grand city tailor to tailor you everyday shirts.

My 2cts worth of advice.

But based on the 3 shirts i made at James Fashion, i really have no complains on both the quality and service.. It fitted me like a glove.. Haha.. And i only paid $35 per shirt..which is a fantastic deal, considering the quailty of tailorship and it took 24 hours to deliver to my hotel room.

They have different types of cotton there, like oxford cotton, Egyptian cotton etc. Actually their materials do crumble quite easily, but tt's becos of the gd quality cotton. they dont charge if u wan the inner collar colour to be different, but they will charge if u wan the entire collar to be a different colour. i made 1 with outer collar colour and outer cuff colour to be different from the base colour n they didnt charge me extra.

At the end of the day, you buy things where you feel the product is good and the service is good. If you have the time, why not visit a few recommended stores and check out for yourself what is good and where is good. There are at least 6-7 recommended stores in Bangkok and all shouldn't be too far from one another. Most are located on Sukhumvit road, so I'd suggest you check them all out and then make up a decision :)

havent been there quite long le, so cant comment.

But back then Amy never really made such negative comments on me before, though i do know of ppl coming at me saying i abit "niang"....
I was usually there in tees with jeans or berms also, never fancy or working attire.

OT: Family owns a bank?! Not many de wor, can count that few famiy nia, coz sg not many. Lee, Khoo. anymore??? HK more maybe.
But these days, banks arent really own by a family solely right? Coz need to be listed, so at most is bigger shareholder, not really own own the bank...

So well, Amy maybe shot herself in the toes bah. hahaha

I was thinking to give JL a try next wk when i more free. Anyone tried JL before???
Thinking to get a shirt and pair of pants, wonder if it will cost how much...

My friend is not Singaporean. No doubt she is boyish but still customer right? :)

Heard so much news regarding tailoring in bkk. Anyone has experience with tailoring in KL? Any cheaper compared to SG? If so, where?

Do shed some light if you know of any, thanks!

Need some help. Are there any good places that tailor suits? affordably? New to suits, only know from adverts that Kingsmen's suits are $700 up...

How true is it that tailors can replicate suits based on a magazine image? Hard for me to believe when nowasdays a lot of the unique designs have models in various awkward positions and lighting...

Another question: Anyone have a good tailor in Bangkok on par or excelling those in Singapore? Going there soon so maybe can make it there... heard mixed stories about bangkok...

Hi,

Have heard many talks about tailors in BKK and China being cheaper than those in SG.

Has anyone really made an apple to apple comparison of the quality and prices?

Please share. Thanks much.

Again, for bangkok tailor, I shall quote what I wrote again:
