wah now sp chem eng so hard to get com liao ah haha. my time a 3.6+ abit would easily get you a com. There are certain advantage to com, including allowing you to apply for a non relevant course in university to allowing you to exempt certain modules in your course. A COM means you are top 10% of your course. When deciding between someone with a COM and someone without a COM, its very clear who the university will choose.
Mass comm entrance is more dependable on interview than result, as i know lots of friend in WKW that have lousy result in their A level but is good at speaking.
I agree to a certain extend....Non-COM can also change to non-relevant courses which doesnt require relevant diploma, like Biz school.
my frend got 3.92, COM holder, cant even get into Biz sch thru interview, so not necessarily that with COM u stand a better chance den sumone who doesnt have one.
I think COM advantage will only kicks in when there is maybe one slot left, and they will have to choose between one who is a COM compare to one who is not
Anyway, COM is Chem Engine do not gurantee a place in Chem Engine in NUS. Confirmed abt tht...my frend a COM holder, higher GPA, did not get into Chem Engine. Whereas one of them not a COM, GPA lower by 0.05 got in...
the only factor for that is still your O Lvl...strong O lvl, can help u beat ppl who got COM hahas
