I think singtel is no longer giving 2wire 2701HGV-E series modems when recontract because they are moving to opennet platform with new 2wire 5012NV series.They will advise you to reuse your 2wire that they gave it to you previously

I've just recontraced SN 10Mbps. They just rang me up and said that they will deliver the 2Wire 2701HGV-E modem on February 15 after 12pm. I can put it aside as spare or sell it off.
I will know once I receive it on that day.

erm guys..

need your advice on this issue:

if i plug the mio box direct to my phone socket, uncancelled echo = -18-ish dB

but when i use the micro filter, uncancelled echo drops to = +3~18-ish dB

can i confirm this to be a case of faulty filter?

thanks.

/edit: i seem to have fixed that issue by <phone socket> -> (phone line splitter) -> (A) micro-filter -> telephone, (B) Mio box

nope. the micro filter might still be working.
Do check with a new micro filter to test too.

after flashing, surpirsingly u dun hv to config anything, just need to key in yr userID, dun need pw, ignore the status 'Qwest broadband connected'..u are only online when 'ISP connected'..

I'm still puzzled why no need pw...

WARNING: not mioVoice or mioTV support

the qwest firmware update made some great improvements! no more disruption to websurfing during heavy downloading and the transfer speed for my WD Mybook World actually doubled!

I was only getting about 3-4MB/s writing speed on the NAS, after updating it became 8-9MB/s!
