Well on one hand it has no VRM/cut corners issues like GTX 570/590 but at the $66x cheapest range a pair of XFX HD6950CF @ $488 offers more horsepower if single GPU set ups are not the only criteria...

I agree 6850 CFX is a more reasonable approach for more horsepower,but u should also know that most games do not support Crossfire,single gpu wins in terms of gaming compatibility

CF scaling and compatibility has ramped up greatly going from HD4k to HD6k actually and previous gen yes i would point to poor scaling and not worth multi GPU set ups but this current gen @@

1st hand there is the Sapphire HD 5830 Xtreme $189 and Palit GTX 460 768 $199 but if in stocks i would think $9 over for the Sapphire HD 5850 Xtreme best buy in the lot hehe

Yep saw that in PCT latest pricelist - ask how long warranty offered lor but at that price fantastic buy as all HD 5770 currently are even higher priced but Tradepac seems to have Sapphire XTreme HD 5830/5850 $175/205 so can check that out as well

GTX 580 merely warrants an honorary mention at a much higher $490 price point so while single GPU solution in earlier gen sounds logical/reasonable, current crop scaling/price-performance makes this far from apparent hehe
