I'm a bit confused. Means if I plug in the dock, I get to use the ATI card on external monitors only?

Or it can provide better 3d performance on my notebook display? via the light peak interface?
when you plug in the Power Media Dock, you get to use the ATI Graphics on your notebook as well ... otherwise you will just be using Intel HD 3000 :D

Currently i already need a bit of getting use to to the 1600x900 resolution liao. wonder what the full HD resolution will look like. No dedicated graphic card option huh?

If there's one thing undeniably irresistible, it's a VAIO Z. :D

I only hope we're given a myriad options for the new Z. I don't really need the PMD, but I want the full HD screen, 8 gig RAM and Core i7.

End of July then, my fellow Z owners! :)

the new one no longer has the hybrid graphics?
Unfortunately, Sony decided to move the discrete graphics card to the PMD, thereby shaving off tenths of an inch to get it slimmed down to its current incarnation. Some people like it, others don't. It took me a little while to get used to the idea of a VAIO Z that isn't the all around mobile powerhouse it used to be.

Was at the Vaio store in Bugis last week and was informed that there is a new S series coming out, with similar features to the Z, especially with a Blu-ray player.

Can't wait for both to come out and compare! =:p

Unfortunately, it seems the Z has been delayed. Was initially given a late July release date, but it seems that is highly improbable now. Mid-March is the more likely date. Bummer.

guys, need some advice here. any much difference in terms of the Z128GG vs Z138GG. notice only a slight differenct in processor.

Was actually comparing the new specs of the Z series but apparently the panel is not on Full HD so i guess the older generation still appeal to my needs.

Both laptops are from the same generation (Z1), so any changes will be incremental. In this case, the main difference is a change of processor.

The Z2 is also offered with a full HD screen.

i620 vs i640.......i guess not much of a diff ?? maybe lifespan of the batt will be better with the i620 ?

I just did a check on the latest specs. dont seems to see much difference.

any idea if the performance will be realy great ? else i will just go for Z1
