you might wanna check out studio monitors since it's clarity and depth you wan; like the kurzweil ks 40a you mentioned.

i recently switch from 2.1 to a pair of studio monitors, very happy with it although it burned a hole in my wallet. =:p

Went ahead and bought the kurzweil. Good clean song without the bass drowning out everything, but max volume isn't very loud. Most of the songs I tried are already max vol. Looking for a cheap and small solution. Any suggestions.

A cheaper, workable solution for near field listening is Tripath Amp and dip in the used market for decent bookshelf speakers..tadaa :p

Not sure, is this the replacement for the Bose Companion 3 Series II ?

I saw Amazon site already selling & all customers reviews very good.
http://www.amazon.com/Bose-Companio...dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
Have read some users review does indeed sound good , but I still have
go personally see & hear for myself . Cause different peoples listen to sound what they like . Some like hard bass and some prefer warm bass
so each one have their own prefer listen to music type..

Thank you.

Looking to upgrade from my current creative S2 speakers. Any recommendations?
Looking for either a 2.0 or 2.1 system.
Deciding between a creative T3 or Soundsticks 3.

Using for music mostly, with movies and occasional light FPS gaming.
Sound clarity most impt to me, with some good bass response for movies.
I understand its hard to have the best of both worlds so would be willing to compromise some clarity for bass.

Already auditioned a audioengine 2 ytd. They sounded really great to me and i would have bought it if not for the lack of bass when it comes to movies and gaming.
Tried the A5 also but the price is out of my range.
Looking for something closer to the T3/soundsticks range if not maximum $350.

Any good recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Wait... you mean you wanna upgrade speakers after buying the kurzweil?

since it is amp-speakers, i dunno if you can increase the vol further. so next would be buy new. =:p

cheap & small? hm...

i got the Adam A3X, very satisfied with it; not big but it's more exp than the kurzweil.

I feel the kurzweil is good enough for me right now until I start picking fault. Looking for a cheap preamp type thing to bump up the source.

But all this is the least of my problem since I dun have any space in my room to place the speaker. :s22:

to bump up the source, a headphone amp can also do the trick.. i think even the budget fiio e5 will give a nice volume and bass bump..

sound-wise, it's pretty subjective but ya i would recommend it.

you should audition it yourself. i made the mistake of auditioning it at luthermusic (actually i was just enquiring and the boss switch on the music:s8:), :o liked the sound so much i went back within a week and got them.

original budget: $300, after the mistake > $800 :(
