Using the Estoc++

It make me feel uneasy using it. When I look at it, it is glossy and clear. But when I touch it, it is powdery. Hey there is no powder on it. 7th Month is over!! The surface is smooth and much more usable than the matt one from SGP. Is this glossy/clear or matt/anti-glare? If the former is having a theoretical max score of 1, the latter also 1, I would give this Estoc+ a 1.5.

It is extremely easy for a 1st timer like me to paste this. Use a blower to blow dust away, use the sticker to get the remaining dust particles and paste. Do it in aircon room.

hmm... Do you think it'll wear out so fast for e-stoc+? I got a feeling that it can last very long like maybe 1 year or so if used with care.

When i had a ppc, i damn cheapo, only change SP when the stylus scratch the SP until damn jialat. used for 2 years only changed SP 3 times.

Shld b able to last quite sometime. Vulpix, darknez and me been using for a month and still the Estoc is showing no sign of wearing out anytime soon

I think as long you follow the golden rule of not using liquids to clean the protector, it should last. I haven't had a reason to use any form of liquid to clean the screen.

Since I ordered quite a few screen protectors to test out, I'm not yet on Estoc+. Will give short scoring based on personal experience in case it helps anyone decide what to get.

SGP Ultra Crystal
+ Super clear! Colours come through brilliantly. Clarity: 9/10
+ Free with Neo Hybrid
- Glossy, so it's very hard to see under sunlight especially when you have brightness turned all the way down like I do
- Fingerprint magnet. Not very hard to clean, but mars the appearance of the screen/phone for me

ScreenProtective Matte
+ Cheap. $6 for 2 pieces
+ Smooth & anti-glare, as it is with most Matte-type screen protectors
- I'd rate clarity at about 6/10, no thanks to the rainbow effect which was so evident, my eyes hurt just looking at anything with a white background on the phone
- Strangely enough, for a matte screen protector, I could still see some fingerprinting. Easily wiped off, but still unexpected.

Power Support Anti-Glare
+ Very smooth! Initially it there was some friction but I wipes it down with a microfiber cloth and all was good.
+ Anti-glare, as the name says, so under sunlight, visibility is pretty high
+ Doesn't pick up fingerprints
+ Clarity: 7.5/10 due to reduced brightness and minimal rainbow effect
- Not on the cheap end of screen protectors at $26 for 2 pieces (from MO)

For all these, my brightness was turned all the way down and I used each screen protector for an average of 2.5 weeks each at least, except PS matte which I just put on yesterday!

My own method of putting on screen protectors involve using a room with minimal air circulation, bright light (so you can see the dust more easily for various angles) and taping up about 2/3 of the screen that is reached later (eg. I start applying from the bottom of the phone so I scotch tape 2/3 of the top of the phone in horizontal strips). This way has helped me not go crazy trying to clean whatever dust that happen to land on the screen while applying the screen protector when I'm still at the bottom part. So I peel the tape off strip by strip when I reach each section of the screen.

Apologies for the lengthy post, hopefully its of some help/use :)

My 3xAA emergency charger arrived. Initial tests with my Imedion 2100 Nimh rechargerables are quite promising and it runs the USB at 0.5A according to the battery monitoring. It definitely charges faster than the PC USB port based on my feel.

Anybody wants me to test any particular battery? I will be testing the following batteries:

1. Energizer Ultimate Lithium
2. Energizer Advanced
3. Energizer MAX
4. Imedion 2400mah LSD (new)
5. Imedion 2100mah LSD (3.5 years old)
6. Panasonic EVOLTA
7. IKEA Alkalisk

Methology:
1. Test @ 5% and 50% level
2. Screen set to 1% brightness
3. Put to Airplane mode
4. Activate screen once every 15mins to check if it is still charging and deactivate it to conserve energy
5. Record down % change and number of 15mins cycles once charging stops

Looking at the list I have, I would be buying like 12 x 6 = 72 batteries to do this test... LOLX

why not get a recharger mobile booster instead of emergency charger? Mobile booster can output 1A and no need buy additional batteries.

.5A is the standard usb power btw...

That is the Max for USB 2.0 and is subject to change according to how the device negotiate the current. Anyway, if you notice, the USB from PC charges at 330mah while that of charger is at 500mah. That is why charging via pc USB is slower. This charger I have recognized it as an after plug.

My mobile booster is shipping from China. What I am doing here is to test the devices. It does not kill to have a backup in case the mobile booster dies or run out of juice in say outfield. I can just pop in AA battery from convenient store and charge the phone, say if I am overseas on trip.

Anyway, I am doing this as people are not willing to buy and test, plus can ask me to search for information related to iPhone rather than She.
