thought FIN303 is compulsory module?

mine is just a major elective...

need to complete 20cu...

already did ACC203e Managerial Accounting which is 5cu.

confirm need to do ICT317e IT Project Management which is 10cu.

so now need to choose between BUS351 Operations Management between FIN303 Financial Management which are both 5cu.

so anyone can give me a rundown on BUS351 Operations Management and FIN303 Financial Management? what is the GBA and exam like? which one easier?

BUS357e Starting and Managing a Business - Yes, it's ECA-based. Quite demoralising by the time u start to do the eca - lots of research to do.. =(.. it's like tip of the iceberg of BUS488 Strategy.





FIN303 is open-book exam... BUS351 is closed book and lots of formula you got to memorise and not given in exam.. =(





BUS361 IT management - it's manageable... =)..

HRM201 - also manageable... =)




My fren who took it told me - classes are conducted on Sat and Sundays...IIRC..
something like 8.30 - 6pm on Sat.... 12 - 6pm on Sunday.... attendance compulsory..... presentations the whole day... =(

You mean we need to give presentation to whole class?

Seem like they open back up the Financial modelling and selected topic in finance... so we are not stucked and able to grad next sem.. heee

is fin359 - derivative securities tough for a 2nd year with no grounding in any finance modules yet ?

because of the new scheme for jan 11 batch, without stats, i can't take financial maths.
without financial maths, i can't take finance, financial institutions, financial markets and instruments.

as strategy is really important and its a 3 hours exam...
my advice is to take ECA is possible so u can focus on strategy!

im almost in the same situation as u....
as strategy is really important and its a 3 hours exam...
my advice is to take ECA is possible so u can focus on strategy!

so now im considering to take 2 ECA & Strategy..

yeah same here... mine will be Starting and manage bus and financial modelling
2 ECA and one Strategy...

hold fully i pass my current module which is quite hard..

now really for Fin303.... is those normal forumla sort of thing... FIN303 and CorP finance are link... both is almost the same.. even GBA is almost same..

i would say its quite tough...

my friend advice me to take derivative securities partly because it contains concepts that most finance students are not yet taught in their earlier finance modules.
that's why he feels that everyone basically starts from square 1 in this module.

damnit... BUS351 Operations Management is only offered every july on monday which clashes with my database modules which are also only offered every july on monday...

argh... now i got no choice but to take FIN303 Financial Management if i intend to get my degree within the next two years...

Questions and case studies will be given before hand and groups or individuals need to prepare case notes and present in the class.

Requirements are:

Strategy is generally tough.. and stressful. Just ended my last lesson ytd. The presentation preparation make me only slp 2 hrs on saturday. Some of my class mates nv slp at all.. ;(
