i am on the 100mbps fibre plan and not using any RG...

personally tested it myself using a tp-link wr1043nd wireless-n 300mbps wireless router.

placed my laptop which is on 150mbps wireless-n just next to the wireless router and practically physically touching it.

the speed never went any higher than 50mbps while on wired it went as high as 99+mbps.

Thanks for the feedback. Even without using the Huawei RG, the wireless speed are so disappointing. A 50% speed drop for the wireless.

So I guessed getting an additional alternative router to connect to the Huawei RG (for those who subscribed to voice) will not help to improve the wireless speed.

Hi,

my connection, ONT - old Dell laptop _ about 40mbps-local
ONT - new Asus laptop - about 70 mbps - local

ONT - 54 mbps SMC router - old Dell laptop _ about 20 mbps
ONT - 54mbps router - new Asus laptop - about 40 mbps - local

Hi ah wise,
did power down of ont before connecting to and was able to access internet smoothly, thanks for the advice !

I don't expect 100mbps speeds, what I am getting now is way better that wat i had previously, neigbourhood open wireless connection.

Well that is because you are the only one using the internet. Probably you are content with the speed that you are getting. But you have to understand that there are people who subscribe for the entire family where several members of the family might be using the interent at the same time and any under provision of speed or unstable speed, it will affect the various individuals in the family during their usage.

cool, man, i'm just sharing my experience, not saying evey one should just accept anything less than wat was promised.
i'm not an IT person so for me as long as I am able to get on the net and not not get sudden and frequent disconnections I'm satisfied, so far after 1 week have not experience disconnections ''' yet !
Most of the time its me and my wife on the net at the same time, I am not sure about how to set the security key for the router so i just leave it open, so sometimes others may also be using the connection, (that's wat i did before i got the fibre !) not the right thing to do I guess.
I'm gonna get a new router and set it up properly soon.

i think it's not that m1 connection but rather it's the RG if u are using (Which i am) the wireless signal definitely CMI... i had no choice but to get a HomePlug... but in short i am kinda satisfied with their connection, direct connect to the RG i can have a speed of 96mbps up and 40+mbps down.

You tried to upgrade the firmware to v.23 by calling 1627? It should improve the connection & stability.

What router are you using? This speed test result is wired or wireless? Very disappointed to see such result.
