No. It does more than just convert medium

No according to VQ there is no international cap.yes, iirc, VQ cap for int'l is 25, versus the big 3 which is 15?
If Google is building a Data Center here, NTT Docomo's Data Center building also almost complete construction, what makes you think more and more contents ain't going to be mirrored and hosted locally here?i rather have good international speed .... local is useless, you don't need so much bandwidth to watch xinmsn
Hmmm... Question should be is the test done at VQ CO premise or at end user's provisioned FTTH.Speedtest.net - Singapore - NGNBN
Wow VQ got 479.11 Mb/s download. That's a good 200Mb/s faster than the next fastest download.
But is it local or international? Anyway to tell from the test results?
By virtue of the speedwave goals, the result obtain should be invalided unless it is done at the consumer end. From what was shared, this test is done at the VQ office which should be considered as backend or at least a non consumer end results.Hmmm... That's what I suspected too...By virtue of the speedwave goals, the result obtain should be invalided unless it is done at the consumer end. From what was shared, this test is done at the VQ office which should be considered as backend or at least a non consumer end results.

So, the Option for the Cisco E2000 wireless access point really just means that you still use the ZNID-GPON-2424 right?
In theory, any access point with DHCP can be attached to the Zhone?
Also, the 'rental' of the modem means the rental of the Zhone? I don't see the option to purchase it.
ok and im assuming purchase will be much more expensive than rental? The Zhone ONT, can be used as a router or a modem. In routed mode you should not be running an additional DHCP server.
If you wish to connect your own router to the Zhone ONT, we simply need to configure the device as a bridge.
Customers have the option to purchase the Zhone ONT instead of the monthly rental.

thats just 10 cents more than monthly rental over 2 yrs.I believe the purchase price is $128.50
thats just 10 cents more than monthly rental over 2 yrs.
btw those on rental can request for an upgrade/exchange should better hardware become available?
so whats the 1st time charge for installation and buying the ONT?The zhone ONT is quite capable of supporting speeds of up to 1 Gbps as a modem. We believe this device should meet our requirements for the considerable future.
We have chosen to use a far superior device to what is currently available on the market to ensure a better service delivery to our customers.
Cool... 500Mbps plan... interesting...The test was done at our office which is on a Fibernet 500 plan. The test was not done from the CO.
Our office is a shophouse on Duxton Road.
Im assuming regardless of modem mode or modem cum router the zhone supports up to 1 gbps rite? The zhone ONT is quite capable of supporting speeds of up to 1 Gbps as a modem. We believe this device should meet our requirements for the considerable future.

Okay. So set the Zhone to bridge mode and attach an access point to it.The Zhone ONT, can be used as a router or a modem. In routed mode you should not be running an additional DHCP server.
