i rather have good international speed .... local is useless, you don't need so much bandwidth to watch xinmsn
If Google is building a Data Center here, NTT Docomo's Data Center building also almost complete construction, what makes you think more and more contents ain't going to be mirrored and hosted locally here?

Hmmm... Question should be is the test done at VQ CO premise or at end user's provisioned FTTH.
By virtue of the speedwave goals, the result obtain should be invalided unless it is done at the consumer end. From what was shared, this test is done at the VQ office which should be considered as backend or at least a non consumer end results.

The test was done at our office which is on a Fibernet 500 plan. The test was not done from the CO.

Our office is a shophouse on Duxton Road.

So, the Option for the Cisco E2000 wireless access point really just means that you still use the ZNID-GPON-2424 right?

In theory, any access point with DHCP can be attached to the Zhone?

Also, the 'rental' of the modem means the rental of the Zhone? I don't see the option to purchase it.

The Zhone ONT, can be used as a router or a modem. In routed mode you should not be running an additional DHCP server.

If you wish to connect your own router to the Zhone ONT, we simply need to configure the device as a bridge.

Customers have the option to purchase the Zhone ONT instead of the monthly rental.

I believe the purchase price is $128.50
thats just 10 cents more than monthly rental over 2 yrs.

btw those on rental can request for an upgrade/exchange should better hardware become available?

The zhone ONT is quite capable of supporting speeds of up to 1 Gbps as a modem. We believe this device should meet our requirements for the considerable future.

We have chosen to use a far superior device to what is currently available on the market to ensure a better service delivery to our customers.

Okay. So set the Zhone to bridge mode and attach an access point to it.

Will do. Thanks.

Wasn't offered an option to buy or to rent so I don't know which it'll be..... maybe that's been taken care of.

The zhone ONT supports up to 1gbps. However, when the zhone is functioning as a router we have only been able to sustain about 400mbps of throughput.

There are no installation charges. The ONT can be purchased at $128.50

For subscription of the service there is the Registration Fee and Activation Fee.
