Thanks for the reply.

The current soundworks come with a power adaptor similar to that of those used by notebooks. Hopefully it's a dual voltage one. I will take the risk and order from Amazon. Now waiting for price to drop. It was on promo at USD300 before the promo ended and it's now back to the SRP of USD379.

Will keep you guys updated once I've ordered.

Never thought that there would be others interested in Cambridge Soundworks speaker system.
I did ask Creative SG before, they did tell me the same thing that
Cambridge Soundworks speaker system is not sold locally if I'm
interested I will have to buy it from US.

Which to me, I find it irony since Cambridge Soundworks is one
of Creative companies which they brought over.
They should also sell Cambridge Soundworks products here in SG also
especially for home theatre users.

FYI once Creative did sell Cambridge Soundworks radio here in SG before
but they stop selling maybe due to lack of demand.
I'm looking in the future to buy Cambridge Soundworks products from US.

Maybe if there are many people interested in Cambridge Soundworks products, maybe can send a request for Creative to bring them in at least
save some $. :D

I'm a fan. :) There are definitely better speakers out there, but at their price range, I think they're pretty good.

Too bad a lot of their speakers (e.g. the M55, M85, MC405 etc) aren't available any more, even in the U.S. (except on eBay / Craigslist etc).

This can be repaired. I took it to those shop that repair HiFi or Audio Visual Shop

I have both the SoundWorks and MicroWorks from Cambridge Soundworks before creative brought over.

The series came to the PC arena with PCWorks, SoundWorks and MicroWorks.

Only SoundWorks and MicroWorks Woofer comes in with wooden casing and not plastic.

The specification is totally different after Creative brought over. Is on the down side

They are working fine as of to date. What a product

regards

I emailed to Cambridge Soundworks on 250v 60Hz Support.
The following is the response from them.

...
Our multimedia system MicroWorks II does come with a switching power supply, so it can work with 110-240V and 50-60Hz...

Think I would be getting MicroWorks II once there is a promotion on the system... :D

I guess this is a long shot, but anyone still have an inking of which electronics shop still do repairs for the Megaworks 550 subwoofer?

Tried calling Sigma AV earlier but they have long stopped doing the repairs due to lack of spare parts.

There was an explosive sound when I switched on the mains earlier for my speakers, they can still be turned on (LED turns on) but the sound is very tiny and very muffled from the satellites. Subwoofer seemed dead.

Opened up the set and noted most components look roughly intact except that one of the linear voltage regulators had the guts exposed, as circled in red below.
