Screen quality:
7.7 - 1280 x 800 (Super AMOLED +)
7.0 plus - 1024 x 600 (IPS)

Processor
7.7 - 1.4GHz Exynos
7.0 plus - 1.2GHz

Battery
7.7 - 5100mAH
7.0 plus - 4000mAH

Weight
7.7 lighter than 7.0plus

Screen Size
7.7 vs 7.0 (duh!)

Price
7.7 Insanely over priced
7.0 plus, now MSRP drop like hell, selling at US299 at most overseas retailers. Singapore prices not adjusted yet.

Overall the 7.7 is a better piece of equipment but is it worth 50-75% more than the price of the 7.0plus? Hard to say. Also, the price is dropping quite quickly. It retailed at 899 around 2nd week of Feb and now shops are already selling at 750. Horrible price depreciation considering Samsung Note and Plus had much more price resilience.

Couple of sellers in HWZ Garage desperately trying to sell their relatively new 7.7 at $720 and it seems people aren't biting anymore.

Will be worse once Ipad 3 is out next month or April.

but no matter how ...

the specs of 7.0 is still nowhere near to 7.7 ?

screen alone is enough the justify the difference in pricing ?

If you have limited needs, I wouldn't go with the 7.0plus. US$299 is the new standard American price while Singapore still has it ridiculously priced at around $600+.

If you don't mind 2nd hand, I would go with the Huawei Mediapad. It has a decent high resolution 1280x800 IPS panel with a ok but not superfast 1.2GHz dualcore snapdragon. Battery life is not fantastic, but not too shabby either. At below $400 which you can find on HWZ garage sale, that would be the option to go. Much better than buying a HTC flyer or first generation Samsung Tab which is ridiculously priced in both the retail and 2nd hand market.

If your needs are even more basic (don't need 3G or telephony), go with a sub $200 china tablet. Some of the more popular ones have decent mod support and will satisfy most ipad like functions in the 7" form factor.

Either way, make sure you download Honeybar for any Honeycomb tablet so you can use the full screen to watch movies without sacrificing 10% screenspace for the status bar.

If money is no object, obviously the 7.7 is the best for the approx 7" form factor right now.

Find dice player
it support hardware decoding
Using it to stream movies from my laptop and my UpNp devices attached to my router
All using Dice player hardware decoding
But if stream video is RMVB, RockPlayer is better.

FYI

Diceplayer is a HW accelerated Media player for android.
Honeycomb tablets can play 720p MKV with Full HW accelerations.
(1080i or 1080p unknown)
Formats: AVI,MOV,MKV,FLV,AVI,3GP,3G2,ASF,WMV,MP4,M4V,TP,TS,MTP,M2T

Try: HW decode but hangs when try to play .mts file format on honeycomb. ???
Cannot work.

Thanks.

=============================================
Anyone know what free player (Andriod, 3.2 & ICS 4) hardware decode that can play the file format with extensions .mts recorded in AVCHD 720p/ 720i/ 1080i 1080p in 25/50 frame/s or 30/60 frame/s modes from consumer/prosumer/professional AVCHD HD camcorders ?

Default player cannot
Try MX Video Player (SW mode)
Try BS Player lite (SW mode)

Look like Andriod 3.2 & below does not support mts in hardware decode.
May be have to wait for ICS 4, enable in OS? Supports mts in hardware decode ...?

Thanks

I think us$299 is the new std American price for 7.0plus 16GB WiFi model
while
Singapore priced at around s$600+ for 7.0plus 16GB 3G+WiFi model

No, 7.0 plus is lower-end model.

Tab 7.7" will have better color/contrast/resolution (1280*720)-Wish it can be at least 1920x1080 ../etc bec of the screen so that u can enjoy the surfing web/watching movies/dramas/video etc.
I got this due to this main reason.
And it can also use as a phone to make call or receive incoming call.

Andriod Expert...

1. Any use SD Tools (fr market place) to test the micro-SDHC?
Does not work when testing on memory or micro-SDHC?

2. Any use SDCardTester (fr market place) to test the micro-SDHC?
It works when testing on memory with Write speed ... & Read speed ...
but
Does not work when testing on micro-SDHC?
Error
No permission to write to extSorages

3. Possible to merge the memory and micro-SDHC as 1 memory device?
4. Any short cut to access the microDHC like directory/file/copy/xcopy/move/rename/create folder/etc as in the desktop win7?

Thanks.

USB hub with multiple devices plugged in possible?

Hi! All. anyone tried using the USB OTG cable & connect a USB Hub & connect multiple devices at one time. can it detect all the devices? Eg. plugging in a thumbdrive, a keyboard, a mouse all at the same time.

Hi,

Can anyone recommend me a good note taking apps?

My usage will be on lecture note taking, for example, my lecturer will give us PDF of the lecture note.. I hope to use the app to open the PDF and write any comments or feedback during the lecture.

Thanks

my old old galaxyS still single core but touch the note like very responsive, use my twinky zip zap very good and fast. I already try not to overload my galaxyS 16gb so that it won't go into media scanning mode which takes very long~~~ and now getting worse phone calls come I try to drag to answer so lagged until missed call zzzz
