Moneyface bro. I think you need to insert wifi dongle in the build recos. People tend to forget about them most of the time just in case they don't have one. :)
Maybe i will add that to my question instead since usually only a small portion of them forgot about it. Most either have already or will ask beforehand. Anyway thanks for the note.

Drop the additional stick of ram,and you could possibly drop the ODD and get the Leadtek 560TI for $299,much better performance.

I got a couple questions to ask.
1) what's the different between I5-2400 and I5-2320?
2)would it be better if I use 2 x 4gb instead? eg: Kingston value ram
3) would it be better Xigmatek Asgard XP pro for casing as it supports USB 3.0 port.
Lastly I don't think I'll be getting the SSD, instead the money saved can be use to cover the cost for the above changes.

Thanks in advance!
Cheers

1) 100mhz less, negligible difference. You can reach the same speed by just changing the multiplier in Bios.
2) Isn't 2x4gb recommended already? It's cheaper than KVR by $2 and Are using black PCB.
3) Your preference.

There's nothing really that you've mentioned is worth the change. An SSD is one thing right now you can by to see the biggest improvement in performance.

I see. However I also notice that the recommended motherboard only has 2 DDR3 slot. Should I get one with say 4 DDR slot, for future expansion?

Actually, $1000 can buy you 2 of such capable PCs. :o

CPU+MB: Intel Celeron G530 + Gigabyte GA-H61MA-D2V @ $149
Current generation of Intel Celerons are very fast, similar to their high-end Core 2 Duo CPUs.
Platform IGP is able to support up to 2 monitors.
Motherboard has VGA and DVI ports that are just handy to directly connect to the monitors.

RAM: G.Skill NT DDR3-1333 CL9 4GB [Black PCB] @ $25
HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 500GB [SATA II] @ $108
ODD: LG 24X CD/DVD Writer [Retail] @ $25
CASE+PSU: In Win BL634 + 300W TFX PSU @ $109

Total: $416

Optional:
PSU: FSP Hexa 400W [80 Plus] @ $59
CASE: Cooler Master Elite 341 @ $55

Assembly + Delivery: $30

Buy all and build from Fortran, price references from SLS shops.

Fortran also provides aftersales support for a small fee.

Thanks for the information, factored in extra budget just in case. But guess you helped me to see more than half of it. Cheers!

2. Your friend can buy monitor, keyboard and mouse possibly on offers at IT Show from this Thursday onwards.
