Hi,

I am with M1 50mbps Fibre. Have called the customer service this afternoon regarding the really bad torrent throttling speed and constant disconnection.

She asked me to change some settings on my Huawei router. Anyway she was pretty quiet when I said the speeds are not up to standard, especially bittorent. Quite disappointed in the customer service of M1. My first time with M1, and probably my last.

Expressed my concerns that I will probably not continue with M1 and she remains silent. I regret signing for 2 years, because I still have 11 months to go. Stuck with pathetic speeds and horrible customer service.

For those who wants to sign up with M1, please read through the numerous posts about the speeds. Especially if you are someone who uses torrent alot.

Good luck!

Hmm not familiar with VPN etc. So for me I have no idea how to do it.

all three major isp throttle torrent speeds so the torrent experience with the other two isp should be similar.

the constant disconnection might be because of your end... nothing to do with the isp.

Well I see that the other two ISP throttling are not as horrible.

Apparently the disconnection is the Huawei router issue. Have done some changes and monitor for now.

Can use NAS to dl. the throttling time is (i heard) fr 1201pm to 1159pm. So, set the dl time to avoid.

Also heard tat my republik is not throttlin. Perhap smaller cust base.

For me, M1 is best customer service, after going thru SH (internet and mobile) and ST (internet) services in the pass. :)

Whether it's M1, ST or SH all are still lah.. It's dependent on your luck that day you call in and which CSO speaks to you. Some can go the extra mile to get your issues resolved while some can just give you that bo chap reply =:p kana so many times before le..

Greetings to all.

All the ISPs out there have their advantages and disadvantages. We have to learn to manage our expectations accordingly. I am well aware of M1's shortcomings but I can live with that for the sake of $39 per month for 100mbps.

Well, M1 technician just came to my house (Yishun) to install the modem and the signal is -23db something like that. To my surprise, I am given the black modem though I did not opt for the voice service. Tested the download speed various times at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test through direct wired connection and the average result is >90mbps. But I am using Aztech homeplugs and tested the download speed various times at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and the average result is between 30mbps to 40mbps. I am not surprised with that result as homeplugs tend to fetch between 30mbps to 40mbps. Probably, I have to look into installing lan cable to enjoy higher speed.

Cheers

wireless issues

Just got my 100Mbps plan installed few days back..
Here's my Question:

I'm currently using the TP-Link Router TL-WR2543ND and I'm getting about 96Mbps for wired and 46Mbps wireless. Which I am happy.

But after putting a password for my wireless (WEP - 128Bit)
I'm only getting 12Mbps for my wireless connection.. Why is that? Can anyone assist?

Thanks Much..

Try setting WPA security instead? Likely its the type of wifi security that causes the drop.
