You all might be going daf.. is this. I'm afraid it really is daf...

Taiwan got a very strange toilet practice. You will see it in the public toilet and also in your hotel bathroom.

On the toilet bowl or WC, there is a sign. Could be English or Chinese telling you not to throw the toilet paper into the toilet bowl.

At first you all might think it is hand towels (Scott towels) since it cannot disintegrate on contact with water. NO. It is toilet roll paper!

You will also notice that there is a bin in the toilet cubicle if you used a public toilet. At first I was puzzled as to why it was there. Of course there is trash bag inside. You open up and see........

It is filled pangsai zhua that is used by the people before you who used the toilet cubicle. Yes, the wiped their 4ss with it and then toss it in there. EEEEEEEEEEEKK!

I asked my Taiwanese friend and they said it has something to do with the plumbing. They cannot give a reason why the plumbing for toilet bowl is the same as those used for your wash basin. So you flush toilet tissue down and if enough people use, the whole toilet bowl will clog up.

He said after so many years of Japanese colonization the sewage is not as advanced as the Japanese which can flush toilet paper down. Big mystery to him.

So their toilet auntie will clear the bag of sh1t smeared toilet papers when they clean the toilet. Your hotel when they ask you to throw into the bin, might send shivers up your spine. If you pangsai in the evening it will not be cleared until you leave the next morning for the day's activities.

So when using public toilet, throw your sh1t smeared toilet paper into the bin. In the hotel room toilet? Go to the shower use water wash backside.

Depends on the hotel as well. So far, I have confirmed that the hotels from that building where New Stay Inn is have to throw the toilet paper into the bin. I think the building is old. Keymans Hotel can flush down.

In Taichung, Galerie Hotel can flush down. TMS toilet need to throw into the bin. Strangely, Taipei HSR station which is just a walk away can flush down! :s22:

It depends. It all started when they used the older toilet papers that are not easily disintegrated in water, resulted in sewer blockage.

Most places in taiwan now allow people to throw toilet paper into the toilet bowl direct, provided the correct type of paper is used. In fact, most hotels can accept that (City Inn included), and most of the shopping centers as well.

SO far the only place that I have encountered is MRT or train stations and the experience has been stinky.... so if you need to do business, to go places that allow you to throw directly. Having sitting there with a pile of used toilet paper looking at you in the face is no fun.

Saw a TV ad promoting the use of wet tissue to wipe ass.

Show some girl spray water to some smeared green apple statue. Then the ad say use wet tissue cleaner......Now you know where all these blocked toilets are coming from. :s13:

You know wet tissue cannot disintegrate easily in water. Really "catch the worm and stuff it back into your ass".

Two things can happen. You exert with all your neigong to force the crap out as fast as you can or you perform a Merlion. :s13:

Nv happened to me b4.. One thing I dun like is the toilet layout.. Happened to me when I was in TP to celebrated new year count down, n this mobile toilet(like big container) where male n female toilet facing each other. N I happened to use the urinal loo facing the female toilet. The feeling was super weird n u cannot concentrate do ur business when a group of ladies r waiting for their turn n seeing u do business. They r really open minded...
