Just got the Mediapad from Singtel and the box stated that it comes with Voice call and SMS support. To test it out later tonight.

u mean there's more than 1 huawei weibo page? isn't the link i posted the huawei weibo?

V100R002C002B010SP03.rar is official huawei ICS? or its yet another update for honeycomb?

can clarify what/where you are pointing people to before posting? run here run there don't even know what the file is for.

should be release later evening or by end of day.
relax first. since mostly all running on ics4 beta liao. nothing new loh.
the link is leak by huawei staff via weibo and not official site.

those china forum guys and xda are all downloading it.

China version via OTA already open to them.
International via download.

just download and install. 99percent final except for local telco content etc maybe.
it come with some video that huawei bundle in and some game data hence the size 1.15gb
i had remove the preset pack, install and rooted successfully.
captive respone improve slightly.

The boot.img and rooting files Free Cloud Storage - MediaFire

This is a guide for two type of people.
1) Want to upgrade to ICS for mediapad,
2) Want to upgrade to ICS for mediapad, and root it.

If you are type (1), just download the file from the first link
If you are type (2), download both from all links (3 files in total)

Skip this segment if you do not want to root
Step 0) Copy the boot.img from [ics.c002b010sp03]boot.rar and replace the boot.img in the ROM dload/update.zip
------------------------------
1) Backup whatever you want.
2) Open the ICS ROM, copy the folder 'dload' into the root directory of your sd card.
3) off and on your tablet. the system should go into an auto update.
4) when it is done (which will take like 20 mins), it will ask you to remove your SD card. remove, and it will auto reboot. NOTE: do not insert back the sd card.
5)Your system will now boot up and present you the lock screen. you can slide to unlock to see the installation status, but DO NOT SET UP YOUR DEVICE YET. Let it do its mojo for about 3 minutes. After which, it will restart itself, and again you will be presented with the device set-up wizard. Now, you may setup your device.

6) Meanwhile, use another device that can read the SD card, DELETE the dload folder (or else you will never boot the device). You can then insert the SD card back into the device after that.
7) open root_cf.04.rar and copy the 'sanixupdate' into the root directory of the device (NOT THE SD CARD). You may first copy to the SD card and then cut and paste over to the local directory using the file manager, or use a PC to straight away copy to the local drive (but you need to install driver on your PC to do this).
8) Hold the power button and select 'restart' to restart the tablet. (Do not press power off, as that goes to sleep mode, not a full power off) The rooting mojo will now happen. It may restart itself, so do not touch it until it comes back to the android lock screen.

Note: The rooting is 'removed' if the files from root_cf.04.rar/sanixupdate are removed.
ie, manufacturer won't know your set is rooted if u remove the folder.
of course remove the superuser and apps too.

Things to note:

1) You are by default, not allowed to fully off the device. You may only select either 'Restart' - which means restart, or 'Power off' - which is Standby. An alternative is to download 'Quick Boot' from android market, which has the feature to power off the device. But do note that this app requires root.

2) Messaging and Phone now comes pre-installed with this ICS ROM, and so there is no need to install the phone.apk as in Gingerbread.

3) Google mobile services (Market, Maps, Contacts etc.) are preinstalled.

4) Huawei cloud etc are now included in the ROM

5) Hot-swapping the SD card while device is on works seamlessly.

6) ICS supports installing of apps to SD card

x) Credit to sanix from bbs.31pad.com for the rooting files

ah, now it makes sense, trying to download, but slow :( how close is this to the official version? or is this the official version leaked ahead of announcement?

infact size not so huge one.
They bundle the preset folder containing some HD huawei advertisement and a some fish clip + some complete game data for golf and asalat6, almost 800mb.

I upgrade e latest software e screen sensertive is better but my 3G network dun seem to move n connect anyone face tt problem?Im using starhub

a few observations so far:
1) you can turn off quick boot. ie you can now use the power button to fully off the device
2) volume rocker now has it 'increase' orientation changed according to the screen position.

performance wise more or less the same.
