I read up on ur Freedom VPN service. It's interesting as it allows access to restricted sites. Wouldnt MDA object to this service on the basis that it allows singapore subscribers to access MDA-banned websites(i.e Playboy)?

Our VPN service still blocks the sites that we are required to by MDA.

VQ, do you have newgroup servers available as add on service? I remember back in the day ISPs like Pacnet had them for free.

Yes we use a specialized subscription billing system by zuora. There was a slight bug in the email address. We will make sure that is corrected.

Our billing is always the month in advance.

The GIRO deduction will only be done around the 15th of the month.

The first bill will always be high due to the one time charges. Future bills will only be for the monthly subscription.

Do give us your feedback on the bill presentation so we can make changes to make it better.

don't quite understand the month in advance part... is it 1st of each month (eg June) will bill for the next month (July)? not the current month? can be quite misleading at time since other provider only bill the current month for each billing date

preferrable if can indicate when is the giro deduction date so customer know when to deposit money to the account for deduction. i don't put alot of money in the account so that wrongful deduction does not occur, hopefully the bill can be bill to credit card soon

Wow I haven't seen this in ages. Doesn't NUS already have this content available?
Newgroups and irc servers have their uses still. Those internet oldtimers should know.

As for NUS, since I'm not a student I can't comment on their service.

Thanks viewqwest.

I have not made the wrong choice to sign up for viewqwest. Excellent service. The viewqwest personnel arrived and got a confirmation call as well.

Yup the bill that comes out in June will only bill for the subscription for the month of July.

We are working towards credit card billing. Once it is in place we will move to current month billing.

thank you for your understanding. we will incorporate the date of the giro into the invoice as well.

I do remember them. I believe NUS used to run newsgroup servers which should be accessible. Let me do some research on this.

ViewQwest. I am not sure if this has been addressed in this thread.
I found that most of the connections to China are very slow. For example, I have AsiaBox that worked very well when I was with Singtel 10Mb but now I can't use it at all for movies that are streamed from China. Youtube and TED are fine.
Also I have Funshion app on my iPad, it works even on my 3G Starhub (a bit laggy but still can see the movie streaming in) but not on my Fibernet 100Mb.
Does ViewQwest limit certain traffic to China?

We do not limit the traffic to China. We are aware of the issue and we are looking at how we can address the issue.

Hi, I am slight dissatisfied with the arrangements of the billing manner. I have subscribe in April. I received my first billing yesterday. Initially, I would imagine the bill is meant for April. However, I received 2 billing receipts. One is for the month of April, which includes all the registration fee and modem charges, which mounts up to $320. The second receipt was sent at the same time, charging me the month of May AND June, which came as a surprise to me. Can I check is this the standard billing taken by ViewQwest?
