Hi all,

I'm very interested to sign up M1 100mbps plan with free fixed line call. However, I just checked the FAQ page at M1. If sees that if I move to another location, I will have to pay a hefty fee! See below quoted from M1:

What happens if I change my residential/ service address? Can the fibre broadband service be transferred to my new home if it is fibre ready and ready for service?

Is this still valid? I may need to move in a couple of years time... seems like have to stick to ADSL...

In the event that you require a relocation of your fibre service, you will be charged a relocation charge of $130/ $200/ $810 for 100Mbps and below/ 150 and 200Mbps/ 1000Mbps respectively, on top of any installation charges for your new premises.

Yes the relocation is rather expensive for now if its still under contract. My suggestion is you may want to take a cheaper plan like M1 25Mbps @ $39? Contract is 12mths and price remains $39 after contract as well.

If you are relocating in 2yrs time, you may want to consider the exclusive promo I have on hand? I pm u :D

Cheers!

Glad that finally I could put my own router from ONT(Still have phone to use) and return the residential gateway back to M1.

Here's the final setup:

Black ONT > Own Router > pc
V
phone

Public IP address resides on Own Router.

From my understanding is not possible yet :(

For those who had the Black ONT with RG previously, I believe you can opt to return the RG & provision the phone line directly from the Black ONT.

Has replied to all enquiries on exclusive promo & request. Please check & get back to me soon! Earliest ONT installation is end of May. Limited slots left =)

Seems like service providers are passing the installation costs back to consumers when they relocate, even though the consumers are still honouring the contract.

Given such costs, I will stick to either ADSL or cable since I don't need the higher speed yet.

HI All

May I know what would be a Good VOIP phone to use?

I am currently using M1 100Mbps Fibre with the Black ONT and ASUS RT56U.

hmmm... if western side is ok, does it include Bt Batok, Bt Gombak and Upp Bt Timah area?

also, if I sign up for 12-month 25Mbps contract, do I still have to pay the relocation cost after 12 months i.e. no longer bounded by contract?

they doing some test again.. this time round i am not going to let go my bite unless i am satisfied ;) i dun understand first 2 to 3 mth can easily get 90 to 99mbps.. cant get above 100 cause the gateway limitation... now no matter peak or non peak period i test speedtest not over 70mbps.. i suggested to return the gateway and connect my fixed line to ONT they bullsh1t me say the gateway is tied 2 year plan.. WTF.. they trying to smoke me... then they told me nope not tied to plan but my area no configuration to connect fixed line to black ONT yet... lots of bulls from them **** u M1 again..:vijayadmin:
