Was the version you tried non root? You should be able to install it over the existing version.

Can anyone help me on this pls? I got my s3 changed on the 3rd day of purchase after realising the home button required different pressure on the pressing n holding to get task manager. However i was told by the staff that I could only change the phone n not the whole set n after that he replaced the cover of my box. (Which has the new imei on it) im thinking now.. how about my warranty card?? Which did not reflect the new phone's imei. I did online registration with the serial no. thou.

Just keep your new invoice and bring together if you need servicing. It will reflect old and new imei of your handset.

The only invoice I had was for my first S3. There wasnt anything else given to me other than the new set (handphone only) and the box cover (which has the new imei on it)
I never thought of warranty issue when I got it replaced. Haiz.

At least you got the box swapped. My set was also replaced but only the handset. The courier said to follow instructions given by cso to change handset only.

I was similar like you all. They replace the handset and battery together with the box reflecting the new imei and a new warranty card. All the other accessories were un touch.
