Fwah looks good.

Even original price ( S$27 ) it's very worth it wor.

Errr, actually the food is really not good. Even in SG, can get better meals for tat price.

In fact, the pool outside looks more inviting then the food! Ah Tan, i post a bit ah, since you did not post much of the pool pics.

Dory en papilllote - Though dory is a cheap fish but this was kind of nice with herbs baked in aluminum foil so it retained the moist.

Fish Maw Soup - Saw my friend eating this but I kept forgetting to go scoop some for myself. The fish maw are cooked in large pieces which should gave it more bite.

112-Dine_7.JPG

I tot the container for the dory is more interesting than the dish itself, although its not half bad considering its yucky dory.

Pity abt the fish maw soup though, cos its actually pretty good.

K, i better go finish posting in my thread instead of kapoing in yours :D Else gonna forget abt it til months later again.

Yeah, the foods not good. My camera cannot take low light pictures, it doesn't look nice at all.

Day 3 - Tesco Lotus, Chatuchak and Chinatown

The next day, my friend wanted to go shopping in Tesco Lotus so we got up early and reached there around 7.15am but alas the place doesn't open till 8am. :o

Since he was taking his own sweet time to try out the clothing, I went to the McDonald's downstairs to have my breakfast. Ordered a Double Sausage McMuffin with Egg Set.

164-TescoLotus.jpg

You call this Gourmet Coffee!? - It was so diluted and tasted like sugar water! I just took a sip and left the whole cup intact.

McDonald's Bill - Price not as cheap I thought it would be.

166-TescoLotus.jpg

Thinking my friend would have finished his shopping by now, I went back to him but he was still trying the jeans. Down I went to the supermarket to check out what they have. Their Lay's potato chips got so many flavours not available in Singapore and I ended up buying these.

Lay's Hot and Spicy Crab - Can't really taste the crab flavour.

167-TescoLotus.jpg

Lay's Hot Chilli Squid - I like this sotong one, much better than the crab version.

168-TescoLotus.jpg

Lay's Stax Spicy Lobster - Doesn't taste like potato chips. Not nice at all.

Finished shopping and my friend was still not yet done so I went back to McDonald's for a snack.

170-TescoLotus.jpg

Chicken Ham Pie - A refreshing change from the usual apple pie, this one with savory filling was not too bad.

Place where I stayed - Though not located in town area, it was still convenient to travel about with the bus station nearby and taxi parked directly outside the condominium. Thanks to my friend for letting me stay there.

Oh ya I ate the fried worms before ( small small ones), they tasted pretty good.

It's really crispy like crackers.

Add a little fish sauce and cheddar cheese. Yum yum! Anywhere in bangkok still sells them?

I remember I bought them somewhere near central world plaza years ago.

Looks like this

Looks disgusting, but don't think it's a worm and just put it in your mouth. Mmmmmmm!

Rendezvous with the other two groups at Kamphaengpecth Station (MRT) in the late morning for more shopping spree at Chatuchak Weekend Market.

ChattuchakMap.jpg

Details on getting there and map are all here.

Once you came out of the underground MRT station, you'll see this Coconut Ice Cream Vendor on your left. Someone once told me if you have not eaten the coconut ice cream from here, you have not truly experience Chatuchak yet. Each bowl or half coconut shell with a scoop of ice cream and two toppings cost 30 baht.

They will scrap the coconut meat off the shell then deposits a scoop of ice cream in it.

Thai Fishcake Hawker - Unlike the fishcake we have locally, theirs was softer and not as springy/Q or flavourful, so you need to eat it with the accompanying sweet and sour chilli sauce to appreciate it.

Crispy Pork Skin and Pork Belly - I have not seen this when I was there last year, maybe I did not paid attention or was specifically look for it. The difference between them was that the pork belly had an additional layer of meat while it was skin only for the former. Taste wise, we liked the more intense flavour of the pork belly imparted from the meat layer but it also cost double the price at 250 baht.

PS: My colleagues love this pork belly so much. One even ask me to bring back a carton!!!

Fried and Roast Pork Hawker - Being carnivorous, we just had to try these, so we bought the pork belly coated with sesame seeds shown in the left side of the picture.

Coconut Ice Cream with Peanut and Sweet Corn - Went back to have a second round of the ice cream and for the free flow of coconut juice. :lick: There was a second stall selling the same thing further down the road but supposed the ice cream wasn't as good as this one.

As the shopping took the bulk of our time, we did not have the time to visit the animal and aquarium sections. But I did took some photographs of these cute Rabbits.

Lop Eared Rabbit - This one is so cuddly and cute...
