not bad, can confirm if i transfer money from my isavvy account and put inside this FD
can i enjoy the 0.6%? or this is not consider fresh fund?

Time Deposits must be made at any of the 22 Maybank Branches in Singapore, using fresh funds and exclude transfers from existing Maybank accounts (if any).

I can't confirm because I haven't tried it myself, but I believe they mean this: You cannot transfer money from Maybank accounts you already have into this new FD to enjoy the rate, but if you withdraw the money from your Maybank account and then deposit it into this new FD it will count as fresh funds. It sounds silly but they make the rules :s22:

But for the maybank 0.6% its prorated right? meaning 2 months its 0.6% divide by 12 then times 2.

For UOB one i queried with them and their 1.0 for 7 months also prorated. not put in 7 months then end of it get 1% after 7 months

yes, the key word is P.A.

Most banks advertise in this way.

Most banks advertise in this way.

Indeed, advertising rates in per annum terms is standard and good so that customers can compare between banks and accounts more easily.

Sometime back UOB was advertising a structured product with a huge 7.6% figure in the poster, when 12-month FDs were going for 1% or less. That was actually the cumulative return for 5 years. So you can see what kind of mischief the banks can get up to if there was no standard.

Anyone placed their cash with UOB 7 mth 1% p.a FD promo? Is it a good deal? Any catch?

There is no catch. In fact, I just renewed my FD when it expires recently. They offered me this rate (1% pa for 7 mth FD) even before I asked for the rate for renewing my FD.

mosmos: Your fixed deposit rate for ICICI Bank is wrong / outdated. Time to update to 1.75% for 36 months, 1.45% for 24 months & 1.25% for 12 months.

See ICICI Bank Singapore :: HiSAVE Interest Rates

Wow this HiSAVE (online-only) savings and fixed deposit accounts are new. With this I think ICICI is offering the highest fixed deposit rates in the country. And the minimum is only $1k!

The rates are the following:

3 months 0.60%
6 months 0.70%
9 months 0.85%
12 months 1.35%
18 months 1.50%
24 months 1.55%
36 months 1.75%

So troublesome, need to have HISAVE saving account before u can open the HISAVE FD. All must done online. No counter transaction and ATM card. Just like the finatiq or esaver or iSavvy except offering higher interest rates.

Thanks for the info. This should be the best FD right now in S'pore.
