how about first house hotel? good?

the location is excellent, but i won't say the same of the hotel
went to the website and saw that they've renovated at least the lobby
however, when i stayed there about four years ago
the rooms were old, cockroaches were running freely around
even the bedsheets doesn't look very clean :(
never stayed there again since then...
yes it's cheap, but i'd rather pay just a few dollars more for the much newer and cleaner hotels around...

I tried Baiyoke suite more than 3 times le lol...
Not bad rooms is apartment style got living room de...
book direct from their website for 3 nights stay is around 225 for 3 adults with breakfast plus free upgrade to executive suite.

i booked 3 nights at baiyoke suite for my recent trip. checked out after one night. extremely old and dirty. air con not working well and air was stale. then the carpet.......

a popular boutique hotel in the area is budacco:
Welcome to BUDACCO :: The Living Place
the executive suite should be big enough for three.

i checked into the following after baiyoke:
Blutique Hotel Bangkok Thailand - Best discount hotel rates
took the suite. three guys. newly renovated so very clean.

you might want to consider the boutique place
i'm going on 13 sep and coming back on 17
too late to give review for you
review on agoda seems not bad, basic hotel for sleeping
cheapest is book directly from the hotel

what are the names of these hotels? anyway, breakfast included or not, i prefer to stay in ploenchit, nearer to my favourite food haunts. purely personal preference. you may want to ask yourself where you are more likely to hang out in (not that it really makes a world of difference given that they are just two bts stops apart)

1. sivatel/plaza anthenee
2. novotel fenix phloenchit
3. s15 sukhumvit.

1More is swissotel nei lei park at $95... but further away from bts. all these are mystery hotels except s15. price much lower than original. novotel platinum going for $120 min 2nights. but my dates no more slot.

plaza anthenee for $120 with breakfast is a fantastic deal!

these are places in chidlom and ploenchit i like to patronise whenever i am in bangkok.

soi langsuan, 5 to 10-minute walk from ploenchit bts station is also known as little italy. there are quite a few good italian restaurants and 'home kitchen' (similar to somboon seafood).

at soi ruamrudee, also 5 to 10-minute walk from ploenchit bts station, 'coffee beans by dao' (okay, we have it too at wisma atria)

further down from soi ruamrudee is soi polo where the famous 'soi polo fried chicken' (similar to 'somtam nua' at siam square) is.

one stop away at chidlom, 'erawan tea room' and 'nara' in erawan bangkok mall and 'greyhound cafe' in central chidlom

disclaimer: i don't just eat at cafes and restaurants, and i do venture out of chidlom-ploenchit (mbk and platinum mall food courts or street food stalls at thong lor soi 38, for example).

What is your shopping pattern? U like to shop in shopping malls (branded goods/dept stores) or markets like Bugis street like that?

If you're talking about 'orchard' road in bkk, I would suppose areas around Siam Square/paragon. Otherwise for cheap shopping around the markets, then gotta choose a place around pratunam/platinum mall.

Going back if luggage is too heavy, just cab back. It's not that ex. About 350-400baht, abt s$12.. Just that prob might get stuck in traffic. But just pay 45baht for the expressway which is usually quite fast.

I recommend Grand Diamond even though it's a distance from the bts. Excellent location n worth the money. Abt s$80-90 a night.
