That what I thought too, last friday I already called in to ask for waiver but they told me their backend office will contact me. So today I tried call them to check on the status, but answer is the same. Guess, I would have to wait for them to call me back, hope the waiver can get throught.

Hmm if I want to cancel the card, I still have to pay them back the annual fee right ? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Last time Citi bank refuse to waive off my annual fee, I threaten to cancel the card, but they told me that I still have to pay the annual fee. In the end, Lan LAN have to pay them back.

annual fee is for next year of usage mah.
correct me if i am wrong.
example 1 year free waiver, so 1st year free. once 12mth ending, they can charge u for next year.

as such y do u even pay? if this is correct, no fault of urs but the bank.

Mine lst year passed already on August, so now is second year. It's my fault, forgot to cancel its during the first year period.

I don't understand. If you get the card last august 2011, then on august 2012 you saw the annual fee. This should be waived if you terminate the card.
Are you saying Citibank said you still need to pay even if you cancel the card?

u can cancel on the month u see the annual being charge.

Credit card is credit card... giro is giro... They are 2 different things.

Are you talking about recurring bill payment using credit card? In which case yes the rebates apply.

Cardholders who are eligible for the Gift will be notified by mail by 10 September 2012. The Gifts are provided by a third party merchant. Cardholders must present the original notification letter and any identification document(s) (if required) to the merchant (during the merchant's operating hours) to redeem the Gift.

Just got my card too. But I'm just a small exec, used for small cashback unless a big ticket item requires immediate purchase.
