Sorry noon question. If dividend every quarter is $0.50 and I have 10 lots of Starhub shares. My annual dividend is $2K and annual yield is 5.4% (2,000/36,800). Is my calculation correct? Thanks

Correct! :)

The beauty of constant dividends. Compelling buy-side case.

SIC a way of making money out of the iPhone 5, not telco dependent:

1. Recontract and get the new iPhone 5
2. Sell to dealer for a good price
3. Continue using old phone or buy iPhone 5 a few months later when hype dies down

:s13:

LTE is coming out soon too...

not too sure how the gurus here feel, for a newbie like me eager to build up portfolio.... for such a stock like starhub...

if i were to persist on my mentality of "too expensive, too high, not worth", then it will be the case of the price getting higher and higher... the ship sailing further and further.

since it was at 3.65 today, i might as well enter now.... or else it will never be in my portfolio.

I just started not too long ago so I'm also newbie. For what I've learnt, as long as at the price when you enter the yield is reasonable, then you forsee dividend growth, share price growth, you should enter. If not, can wait for price dip to enter also. If the company commit to dividend already then the share price drop after you enter, you can buy more lots at lower price increasing your dividend yield. (provided the drop in share price is not due to those major reasons like stoppage of services, etc). More experienced ppl, please correct me if I am wrong k? I'm learning too :D

Have you seen their price plans for 4G?

It's even more expensive than Singtel's.

I never thought I'll see the day when M1 won't compete on price.
