To do well for this module you need to diligent and think alot. Its good to start thinking about the process of solving rather than memorising. Alot of people try to memorise model answers teacher give. My advice is to start exercising the mind before its too late!

i think doing the pyp does helps. even if cant do, look through the commentaries. it is quite standard for PPF, must know how to do PPF, perfect comp, monopoly, monopolistic competition, substitutes/complements, SR & LR cost function .. well i can only remember these few topics :x
that is a very bold statement coming from manfried, especially when his notes are carbon copies of the subject guidebtw those who uploaded the soft copy of the notes should not do it already.. Today mr ting mentioned about it and said the lecturers could sue the uploader, even if it is anonoymous, they can ask lawyer to call up google to check.
the scary part is, he said that they may not sue now, it also can be many years later. something like that la..
Agree, alot of practice goes a long way. The subject guide is also quite helpful. Although you should try your best to solve it before checking the answer! I think i once spent almost 2 days thinking of 1 question! The sense of achievement once you solved it is amazing!

Still have the difficult parts like Hicksian and Slutskian substitution and income effects, normal, inferior and giffen goods. Me spend quite a lot of time drawing and drawing all the curves and budget lines......now at least can draw faster le, now study till the LTC, STC, LMC, SMC, LAC, SAC part, production and cost.
i had him last year as well, struggled to understand his lessons. i managed to clear it with 47 marks. i spent quite some time self studying his notes (since he extracts them from the text books), subject guide and past year papers.Any tips on MACRO ? Chiong study guide or better not touch study guide?. I have lessons by ng beoy Kui but i find his teaching very unclear and disorganized.
he was my lecturer during bridging. ya i know "zilo" ahahha. a lot people couldn't understand what he was teaching! and the way he explains is so different from ms lee chin choo..
i just reached slutsky only leh
yeah i think memorising is way too tedious and you end up not understanding the concept etc. guess its time for me to start reading through! thanksand my subject guide hasn't arrive yet!! ahhhh
seems like i gotta spend a lot of time reading and practicing :| hmm does the pyp come with answers? and where can i get them![]()

This is where i teach you some tricks that you may consider taking (at your own risk). In the exam you will need to do 3 short 1 long for both sections. For micro, i suggest you choose 3 topics of your choice and focus on them (i focused on market structure, cost and PPF) same for micro. Not everything that comes out has to be done. However, please exercise discretion in deciding to heed my advice =)

ahh ya, slutsky and hicksian is important too.. haha the LR SR cost function quite standard, cuz they can only ask a few qns but change the wording only..and the commentaries answer is similar for this topic.
PYP and commentaries can be found in ur student portal
Examination - Past year Papers then select the subject and year.
SG can be accessed ond VLE PYPs can be accessed on VLE as well! past 3 years
