My iPhone cases - all flip casings this time round
I got so fascinated with this Designed in Korea brand - Gissar (model: Lure, which is the slimmest), that I bought 3 colors. White 1st, then black on another day, then orange today. There are 2 more colors in this model series - lime green & hot pink.
I also got another great case today - Zenus vintage leather casing. I really like this the best.
[Zoom in pics of one of the Gissar Lure case]:
I had used this Gissar Lure casing for about 10 days, hence inevitably as per all white casing, it gets dirty. I'm using dettol alcohol wipe to upkeep its whiteness.
What I like so much of this series is coz when the casing is closed, there's a magnetic "tic" sound. And its not bulky at all, it follows the exact contours of the iPhone 5. Plus, it protects the sides of the phone as well.
Good thing is, I don't like flip casing brands with the plastic holder within, whereby you got to carefully put your phone to be inside the holder. Gissar has this additional small internal flap so that you can fold it in to secure the phone. Plus, you can make it stand too to watch videos. Usual price is $49. Now drop to $39.90.
I think it copied the brand Uniq - Couleur. I used before this Uniq casing for my Samsung S3, also same concept, magnetic closure, side flap fold in to secure phone. Had initially wanted to get back this Uniq brand, but now the Uniq - Couleur series for iPhone 5 is a let down, its too squarish the design. It does not follow the pattern for S3 - side slot in phone with side flap for closure. No magnetic closure feel too. I took a look at EpiCentre, straightaway rejected it.
[Zoom in pics of the Zenus vintage leather case]:
The smell of this new vintage leather is very strong. It definitely exude class whilst holding it. It comes with a leather landyard and a metal dogtag-like plate. But I don't think I'll put these 2 accessories for long. Prefer simplicity.
To put the phone in, you got to slide in from the top and push all the way down. The fitting is good - tight. Downside is when I got to take out the phone from the casing, I got to use my lightning cable to plug in, then push upwards from the bottom. Closing mechanism button is magnetic kind, again another plus point for me coz other Zenus cases are press-down button kind which I don't quite like coz its troublesome. Price: $79
Conclusion:
I've been thru EpiCentre and nubox to shop for cases. I must say EpiCentre array of casing for iPhone 5 is more. Thus far, I've been to EpiCentre Wheelock, ION, Taka, Scotts Square, 313 Somerset. In that same order, the most collection can be found at the 1st listed branch, to the last branch which is the least collection of casing for iPhone 5.
