same cable use to connect the same desktop to my asus works leh but connect to E4200 speed drops to 100Mb/s, so strange :(

not sure, if ur e4200 WAN port connect to ur pc lan port can get 1gbps then probably zhone is sensitive detecting the cable. happen to mine before.

sorry, wat i meant is test connect the e4200 wan port to ur pc lan port and see if is the link speed is at 1gbps.

yes, this will be ur WAN mac through out the time on VQ, or u can always email to VQ NOC to update, but will take some time for them to update. the 1st option is always faster

but my situation now is i swap a router from asus to this linksys and it cannot work so is it becoz of dd-wrt firmware? default E4200 firmware from linksys should be plug and play right? I don't have to mess with the cloning of mac address right?

it can work, all u need is to set the WAN mac address, is like your key to the internet

@toshiro_sg

Keep everything simple, use the zhone as router and set the rt-n66u/e4200 as ap. The zhone is a decent router, just not strong in wireless coverage.

ur VQ ip is tied to the PC mac address
1. whenever u change a new router, clone the same mac address to ur new router WAN mac address
2. email to VQ NOC to update the new router WAN mac address

or if u can request to use zhone as router and any other router as AP, if u dun mind the limited function of zhone like dhcp for LAN

Tat one not suitable for normal user...but funny that your rt-n66u has abt 700-800mbps wan lan thruoghput...how cone cannot go above 250mbps when zhone in bridge mode??

your config screwed up..

my n66 can go above 300. peak was 330..

disable firewall and QOS.

btw, check your cables too.. im on full cat 6

Hi Antons can give any info on what brand routers & firmwares you help troubleshoot ?
So ppl like me know which to buy :p

Sorry, but most of the time we get headaches with third party routers on high speed plans. So far for wired speed the Zhone beats all routers with 930+mbps WAN to LAN throughput, tested myself with speedtest.net and iperf.

ViewQwest, over at ViewQwest - Fibernet - Modem under the network management section, there is mention of traffic shaping. Can I confirm if you are now shaping traffic on your network?

No, we still do not do any shaping on our network at this time and hopefully will never need to. We mention it just in case we need to do it in the future if we get abusers affecting other customers(it would be done on case by case basis, never for the whole network).
