mus fly from taiwan?

Prob need to transit in Taiwan. Take off from Changi Airport of cos la :)

Do pick up a copy of the TODAY newspaper (15 Nov 2012) Turn to Page 56.

They only accept online booking via Facebook :( TMD... FB access is blocked in office. !@#$%

But the $$ is damn cheap ya.. all tax included... And I've got no problems transiting in Taiwan. The only unknown is how long do we need to wait for the connecting flight to Hokkaido.

According to their ad, their airlines flies directly to Sapporo, Hakodate, Asahikawa, Kushiro and Obihiro! :D wow... I wonder if it is true.

They have a URL here ww.tna.com.tw/index.aspx

I've scanned throught their flight time table. OMG, $680 nett maybe cheap, but the timing CMI ah.. . They have 2 flights outta SG to Taiwan daily... but they've got just ONE MORNING flight from Taiwan to various airports in Hokkaido... be it Sapporo or Hakodate etc...

In other words, you'd be forced to do overnight transit in Taiwan if you want to proceed to Hokkaido. Totally waste of time IMHO, esp if you've no intention of stopping over in Taipei for the trip. You have to do the same when you return to SG hor... You'd loose 2 days transitting just becos of this...

JAL and ANA are still the fastest and most convinent airlines to go for trips to Hokkaido. They virtually have bi hourly flights, via big and small planes to Hokkaido... so you can be sure you'd have a flight ready for you when you reach Narita/Haneda airport.

Just need to wait for JAL and ANA fare promos and grab the tickets fast

Yeah, but im planning to fly in March so not entitled to the promo.

I don't know about SQ but for JAL and ANA, I was told by their ticketing agents that that fare promotions for Spring 2013 will commence sometime in Mid to late Feb.

All offers now refers to Winter fares. Rem, tech speaking Spring occurs after Mar 27, and for northern states eg Hokkaido, Spring arrives much later in early May

Yup, compared to $680 from TransAsia Airlines, I'd take JAL $705 anytime :)

You get to fly in the new 787 to Tokyo ya :) And you can choose to fly to other Hokkaido airports after that if you want. There's no need to restrict yourself to New Chitose only.

Do check out ANA as well. Both are equally convinent. The trick is to find a flight that lands in the SAME airport as your connecting flight to Hokkaido. This is very impt. There is no need to waste over 1 hr on the shuttle bus just hoping you'd you reach the other airport in time for your connecting flight.

Look through ANA and JAL flight time table. They DO have flights from SIN to either Henada or Narita. And from there pick the corresponding connecting flight to Hokkaido from the same said airport. It CAN be done.

I was quite amazed when I downloaded ANA and JAL timetable. There's really no need to chiong from Narita to Haneda (and vice versa) if you plan your trip carefully. Some flights to Hokkaido may be operated by JAL Express using small 737... but who cares, it's only a 1.5 hr flight and even an antique 727 can bring me to my prefered Hokkaido airport safely and on time

yup ANA and JAL are running the BOEING 787 now for the SIN to NARITA line.

a difference of 67 bucks per pax.

i am just thinking of whether the cost savings would be good :s13:

can use the cost saved for more food :s13:
