He worked with dr John Berardi. He may have worked with meadows recently on nutrition (certainly has on training) but if you're talking about the around 2006 year article then it's Berardi. Still worth reading again.

o oops! my bad then. yea the articles were really good. Dave and Jim are really knowledgeable people. but Jim is funny as hall. haha

If nobody takes it and everyone is tested, then what makes you think they cant make it? You'd be surprised at how good "naturals" can look.

Strip yourself of that mentality and stop spreading it around, please. It saddens me along with every pro-natural/ budding bodybuilder out there and you're indirectly promoting steroid use, even if you dont support it.

Looking good in the mirror is diffcult.. having a competition winning physique is bringing it to the next level which in order to even stand a chance most competitiors r taking it ... U seriously think any of the finalist r clean?

A drug user competitor is going to put in as much effort as a clean competitor .. Who has the edge?

there is no wrong or right way...each individual has his/her own reasons for taking or not taking lah...
why are we even debuting on this since there is no right or wrong answer?:s22:
just educate oneself on it ....stop thinking that if one takes it, one can becomes muscular overnite...enough of that ridiculous thinking already - go read up if you dont know anything....with or without, one has to really train and diet hard...no way one can be a couch-potato and grow muscles...:s22:

actually, they can... someone taking steroids and not exercising actually gains more muscle mass than someone natural who works out.

Steroids vs Natural: The Muscle Building Effects Of Steroid Use

So i guess there are 2 ways to level the playing field, either everyone takes them(which is what is happening now, even though it's illegal) or everyone stops taking them. When someone has the mentality to "do whatever it takes" to win, even though that breaches the rules of the game, that's when things get unfair(considering everyone else follows the rules).

If the general consensus in the micro-community is saying "something is wrong", people would be deterred from doing it but if everyone has the mentality that, "its okay to do it" or "you have to do it to win", then it's spreading the message(especially to the young) that it's fine. An example from a semi-related topic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u-rhnV4l08

There is also the problem of use and abuse. People are using these substances with no standard guidelines or maximum dosage, experimenting with how much their bodies can take and disregarding the health risks of excessive intake.

I guess this isnt much of a concern to the "fitness" community since much of the replies i get here are against pro-naturals in bodybuilding or any other sport for that matter?

I think its interesting to note that the grp that didnt exercise or was administered the exogeneous testosterone gained almost a kilo of fat free mass. I suppose that means i can also gain muscles doing nothing at all for a year.

i dont think anyone is against pro-naturals lah...just that we have seen many mis-guide understanding of the use hence the problem of abuse...i totally agreed with you that people using have no standard guidelines or maximum dosage etc and without regards on their health risks....i meant...if there is any guidelines, those in tertiary/ university shouldnt even be taking them given they are still young and not going pro...

Well. I dun see the point of discussing this over and over again anyway.

Yes, steroids is and always will be associated with bodybuilding. I do not care who is using, why they wanna use and all the moral and ethical reasons anyway.

They made their choice, you made yours. I dun see any conflict as long as those on gear do not go around proclaiming that they are all natural or take part in natural competitions.

Last I checked, a swimming competition is a competition for swimmers, based on their swimming performance, not on how good they look.

It's obvious you have a different view on what looks "good" and what doesn't. That doesn't however give you the right to impose your views on others, nor insult anyone. There may be a sizable percentage of bodybuilders who are on gear, but that doesn't mean "bodybuilding equals drugs, fullstop. period", nor does it mean that "doping is everywhere".

That's like saying every girl should be getting fake boobs and plastic surgery, and that no "natural" girl is beautiful.
