Was about to post this. WHY THE HELL IS THE SCREEN SO YELLOWISH?

The prototype I have is really nice the colors. I was comparing them side by side. Let me use a DSLR to take a comparison photo tomorrow.

God the colors sucks big time in the final V:(

Hi, like you, i made the switch from S2 to Xperia V... I didnt have much problem getting used to the new buttons, just came very naturally i guess... Do note that battery usage wise, I know some bros here say is quite bad but personally i found it better than the S2 even with LTE on... Your only headache would be finding cases for it...

I feel physical button and on screen button are about the same. Physical button the good thing is won't accidentally press back/home button when typing really fast while on screen button no need scared the buttons are spoilt or accidentally pressed it when phone inside pocket. Plus when you have a phone with on screen button, IMO the screen looks damn cool when it's turned off :D

Thanks for sharing your experiences :)

My only fear is that the buttons are hard to locate when you are inside an application like, say, the camera or maybe a game

I dun think the feature you mention might be different from Sony cos I tested the HDR on my Xperia V, it only take one shot.

It could be done in the back ground and it depends on phone. Ip4, S3 does save the low exposure and high exposure picts but one x only save and show the last hdr processed pict.

From hdr wiki...

HDR is a range of methods to provide higher dynamic range from the imaging process.

Non-HDR cameras take pictures at one exposure level with a limited contrast range. This results in the loss of detail in bright or dark areas of a picture, depending on whether the camera had a low or high exposure setting.

HDR compensates for this loss of detail by taking multiple pictures at different exposure levels and intelligently stitching them together to produce a picture that is representative in both dark and bright areas.

Usually prototype phones the hardware is better sourced than mass production...but now that you mentioned...yes screen is indeed yellowish.

EDIT: Just compared it with my old Ray side-by-side...yes its more yellowish. Not sure if its because of manufacturing or parts problem, or LCD color temperature.

For phone, they just took one shot, software process to HDR.

i have this feeling that multiple shots was being taken and being processed in the background which is not visible to user...

Thus you mght have the impression that only 1 shot was being taken.

At first i thought it's due to the James Bond theme (Black/Gold) hence the slight yellowish tint...

Changed theme, adjust screen brightness, change wall paper, toggling the Bravia Engine etc.... YES........... screen is yellowish....!

On a second note, i think it's rather pleasing to my eyes.

3M Vikuiti Clear

Nillkin clear or matt

Martin Fields - clear type only

Capdase SP on Expansy

Just found this site - more 3M range of SP under LT25i , LT25c ( not sure if Xperia VL is the same )

Yes xperia v screen has yellowish tint. I hope it's just the curing process seen in fresh new phones. My friend Iphone 5 was very yellowish when she got it at launch but it's very white now. Hope the same happens for xv. Did a comparison with xs(with new screen replacement in late sep) and tx, tx has a very white display (similar to arc from memory) and xv looks more yellow than xs, which itself is quite yellowish.

Hopefully it will get whiter in few weeks time =) anw nexus 4 has exactly the same issue from what I read. So fingers crossed.

Anymore yellowish screen V user here? HK, Japan alot of complaints.
