That's what happened to mine. Had always charged using the apple adaptor. Just a few days ago, I thought I charged my kindle basic to full as I left it overnight but in the morning while I was reading, it went to the critical battery screen. Tried charging it in a variety of ways, apple charger, USB powered adaptor, laptop, pc but still couldn't charge. Still stayed at the critical batt screen. After 2 days of doing all that, chatted with amazon and now they are sending me a new one foc. Now using my backup pw and not using the apple charger anymore.

Also while looking up about the issue, found a website where someone had the same problem as me and another person replying said that the apple chargers does not supple enough power to the kindle and that's y my batt screwed up. Don't know how true that is.

Funny thing is I've had a kindle keyboard for more than a year and used the apple charger but never had that problem.

Maybe the newer apple charger has lower specs - as in lower voltage, so cannot charge properly? The one I am using is from my old iphone, not the latest one.

Anyway, the PW does not have numeric representation of the batt level. I can only see the indicator which does not really tells me anything minute accuracy, so I guess I am not going to bother about it.

Hi all,

My dad complained that his paperwhite will give him an error message about memory issue, and then he will have to power off and on again.
Do you encounter this issue as well?

Read somewhere that this only happens if you have too many ebooks and also if you flip pages or access menu items too quickly. Patience my friend.

Is ur dad reading pdf file? It is known to have happened for the PW to run out of memory while reading pdf. No need to power on n off. Go back to the main menu and then continue ur reading. At least that's wat I saw from a video review of the PW.

Hi guys, anyone knows how long it usually takes for CGW to get the my new kindle to Singapore?

Also FINALLY, quick ship times from Amazon. Almost had to resort to resellers but their prices are...hmm.

Can't wait for it. gonna be such a huge upgrade.

About 5-7 days, if I remember right. Both times I ordered, it arrived earlier than expected. :)
