Thanks! I've decided to get a paperwhite!

Now, anyone knows where to get the cover at a cheaper price? The official one's a little too pricey!

ok... that for generic...

connect pw to usb, and a extra drive letter appear, copy the file into the pw directory?

Correct, you can do this for books not bought from Amazon. (the entire Project Gutenberg catalogue for e.g. or your own documents.) For books bought from Amazon, you can do this too only for your Kindle; cannot load in books bought by others.

books not bought from Amazon can use wispernet to push down?

Books bought from elsewhere usually have their own DRM mechanism (such as books purchased for Nooks etc.) so not possible for the Kindle to read (unless you go the way of the dark arts like striping the DRM.)

question - with so many books, how do you all manage which ones having been read?

(a) on the PW?

(b) on calibre?

(a) start a collection 'done reading' and sort the ebooks according. alternatively, remove from kindle.

(b) i read something about creating a new column and then use it to mark the books.

Hi all, how many of you *do not* use vpn when purchasing books from Amazon? I have a US address so I don't use vpn, and I'm curious about how the rest of you do it.

.

Initially didn't know how to manage those I read, then I just created a collection called "Read"

Me, bought from Amazon direct and send through whispernet. But others will advise best to use vpn. So do trial at ur own risk.

How many of you use the paperwhite with screen protector? Is it better with it?

I don't think there's any way a screen with protector can be better than a screen without. Except when you're trying to protect it from scratches, which is pretty unlikely with a product like the Kindle.

Not sure if anyone would have it... Most of the time, using finger to swipe, so don't see any need for screen protector. Then using the amazon cover which cover the entire PW, so also don't see the need for one.
