planning to pay S&CC and SP services bill using auto monthly payment by credit card.
I have OCBC Cashflow, NTUC Plus! Visa, Maybank F&F, UOB One.
which credit card the best to use in term of rebate?
and what other services I can auto pay by credit card too? M1, Starhub bill possible?
what about yearly fee for AIA insurance & IRAS taxes? (I have applied interbank giro, but worry I forget the payment date and forget to put sufficient amount in the saving account)

thanks in advance

S&CC, recurring payment by SC Xtrasaver, 2%
PUB, recurring payment by POSB Everyday card, 1%
M1, online payment by SC Xtrasaver, 2%
AIA, only accept CC for the 1st payment, subsequently must be GIRO or cheque, not even if you willing to go down to their counter.

The bank cards available for recurring payment for s&cc charges depend on which town council is in charge of the estate.

For SP bills, Plus! card gives u 1.33% equivalent of linkpoints.

For M1 and Starhub, u can do it with your UOB One card but need some monitoring unless u have at least 3 bills (including s&cc for some TC) that add up to 300, 800 or 1500 every month (for maximum benefit)

Yes, for SP, you can pay by credit card at the counter. Normally we would use Manhattan card (must ensure at least $3000) to get 5% rebate. I tried to coincide my HDB carpark (pay one year $90X12) and then pay in advance around $1000 over for my SP bills. Then make up the rest with my regular spending. Usuall can hit $3k easily to get 5% rebate.
If not, XtraSaver confirm can get 2%.
As for Town council, do a google search for their website. The GIRO form should be available at their website. Download, print and post to them. Then it will be deducted monthly via you Xtra Saver card. Yes u can get 2% rebate for that. :)

Wah bro! You are the champion. I am quite good at these savings, but you beat me to it with the pub advance and hdb advance method. Take my hats off to you! ;)

For ANZ Platium Card, I read the T&C is there seems to have different min spending for different categories. Eg. grocesories - $600, recurring charges - $500, transport - $300. I am not sure if you hit at least $600 spending per month, do you qualify for all the cash rebates uder recurring charges and transport?

Thanks. Just sharing. I am sure there are many others who can find some way to do it even better. We all learn together. :)

From my understanding, as long as you hit $600, u can get all the rebates. Unless of course they change their terms and conditions which they should also informed us. So far I don't remember receiving any updates on that.

i find that all these rebates with T&C are a waste of time to keep track, and if you don't hit, you get really upset (at least i do). i will only go for those outright discount with no T&C, and so far, the CIMC Master is still the no brainer.

the only other card with T&C that i will still use is manhatten, because the discount is too good to be ignored (5%). :s12:

I agree. That's why we use multiple cards. The purpose of this thread is actually to focus on cards which doesn't have the minimum spending requirements. There are in fact a few of these cards. POSB Everyday card, Maybank Family and Friends Card, Citibank Dividend Card (although you must spend at least $50 per transaction to hit the bonus rebate). Recently, I also started to use xtra saver debit card. It is 2% rebate regardless of where and the amount you spend.
Lastly, the Manhattan card used to be my favourite. It's 5% rebate. Say, if you spend $1000 this month and need another $2000 to reach the 5% rebate, you can make use of PayPal to hit that target. PayPal charges 3.4% + $0.50 which is lower than the 5% rebate you are getting. Say, if you have two Manhattan card (the platinum card and the world card) and your wife has two, then you can basically have 5% every month! Isn't that fantastic? :)

that's true. i use mbb family and frens for grocery. dividend card for petrol. CIMB for everything else. and of course there's the famous manhatten.

wah, i learn something everyday. are you saying charging to paypal the remaining of 3k, and then refunding it to yourself, in order to hit the 3k quota? how exactly do you do that?

how does it work.. you pay paypal the $3k, then get paypal to return it back to your designated bank account?

I don't want to discuss much here in case PayPal or the bank change their policy. In fact, just wef today, PayPal no longer allow Personal Payment. What I will do is to show you the link. You go figure it out yourself. It's quite OBVIOUS actually. :)

https://www.paypal.com/sg/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees

Note that you can withdraw money in your PayPal account to a local bank without any charges as long as the withdrawal is more than $100.
